Let's Play Mini: Gish!
In this video, I play a game I found years ago through Newgrounds and for a while, only ever played the demo of.
A New Zero: The First Ever Physics-Based FPS
What you're seeing below isn't an antique computer game, but rather the first ever completely physics based FPS, coded by Cryptic Sea. Let that sink in for a moment. Unlike other video games when your character walks around, essentially the computer is just animating your legs to move around to give it the appearance of walking. In A New Zero, when a character moves forward it's because that character is being propelled by the power of it's legs and feet. When the character is falling down it's not just due to a predetermined falling animation, the way it collapses is ruled by the in-game physics.
Even more impressive is that everything in A New Zero is procedurally generated at run-time. This means the entire game is less than one megabyte. Textures, models, music, sound effects are all created using algorithms, and programmed by one person. Furthermore, A New Zero even has multiplayer support with the ability to run a dedicated server.
Check out A New Zero here on Cryptic Sea's website. You can download the demo and there's instructions on the website for when you're ready to hop on multiplayer.
