Love the idea of lil plant-loving plant cryptids getting into people’s homes and becoming attached to houseplants. Like, you know how some plant people really live bugs bc they understand the relationship between bugs and plants? Like that but w a variety of lil cryptids people welcome into their homes or even try to attract w certain houseplants

Cryptid!Ohio idea- The Cuyahoga Grassman

One of Ohio's lesser known cryptids is the Cuyahoga Grassman. As the name suggests, he's a man made entirely of plants (especially those native to the state) and has the physique of a satyr, with pink or red horns and hooves. He lives in the Cuyahoga national park, up in northern Ohio, and kinda just hangs out in the woods.

Ohio would have to "mow" himself using scissors to cut the patches of plants on his skin. Sometimes he has to ask Indiana or PA to help him

He has two stubby red horns peeking above his hair

Speaking of his hair, it always looks like he's just rolled down a hill with the sheer amount of leaves up there. Don't try to brush them off, though, as they're actual living plants, growing from his scalp

Besides the patches of plants in his skin, he also has patches of just green. These are skin cells that also produce chloroplasts, effectively allowing him to perform photosynthesis

Man has hooves, which makes him very not stealthy

He'll grow his own flowers sometimes, small ones like daisies, and give them to people as thanks

Doesn't need to eat beyond photosynthesizing, although he is able to

Plants grow slightly faster around him. This makes for an interesting time when he's sitting and gardening and realizes he can't actually get out

He has a special chair, just for him, that he dragged up onto a balcony on the third floor so he can get sunlight

In the winter months, his plants tend to wilt or die. The chloroplasts in his skin will also turn brown, which makes him also look slightly dead

• a person with far too many joints in their arms and also one of the pairs of joints has wings attached

• cow that looks black but when u zoom in u can tell it’s actually just really close together spots

• frog but just a mouth with legs

• a person but with a very large forehead. like, very large

• just a very big knot of hair that might have feet but we can’t be sure. all we know is it’s moving around the house somehow. it’s not even windy

• a thirty pound block of cheese wearing cheetah print glasses

• a street sign walking toward u ominously

• stag beetle with human ears. like not attached, it’s just carrying some human ears around. also the ears are still bloody

A cryptid that flickers in and out of existence with a streetlight on that one street that no one ever drives down. Not in a creepy way, just standing with a cup of tea or a book. Not menacing.

A cryptid that lives in the local animal hospital once it’s closed. It’s dark but oddly lit, and locked, and all the animals have finally settled down. The phones aren’t ringing. A cryptid that hurts or damages nothing at the hospital, but just appears on the security cameras. A serene cryptid.

A cryptid that is that one line in a random textbook that’s specifically meant for you but gone when you read it again: “First, add the x to the y. You’re better off without him. Then divide it by the denominator.”

A cryptid that appears in the pile of stuffed animals in the window of the closed children’s toy store. You turn to see if you really saw the face in-between the plush animals but it is gone.

A cryptid that lives in the caged-off pharmaceutical part of a 24-hour grocery store when the pharmacy is closed. A 2 am grocery store dark closed pharmacy cryptid.
