what if when you abstract you aren't dying, but rather your soul is returning back to the real world which makes the model go all funky, and you desperately try to pull others back out with you, which is why they glitch when you touch them. and obviously, they're scared, because theyre glitching and no one knows that if they just let it happen, they'll be free. no one understands. and you aren't in control of yourself, you aren't able to think straight, so you don't realise that you wont be able to succeed. you wont be able to help them. they'll just run away. you don't get why, why wouldn't they want to finally leave? why not?
what if kaufmo actually deeply appreciated ragatha. even though her laughs may not always have been genuine, she at least made an effort. and its not that the others weren't trying, its just that he found it hard to see everyone else still upset while he tried to cheer them up. he wanted them to be happy, and ragatha gave him that. and he was so confused when ragatha apologised for fake laughing, because a fake laugh is still a laugh. it made him feel like he mattered.
what if when queenie abstracted, she chased kinger back to the pillow fort, unable to bear the thought of leaving him behind, but when they were in the darkness together, she was able to calm down, and think for a moment. realise that it wouldn't work. she probably saw quite a few abstractions already, and realised that he would just run away. she was able to accept the fact that these were their final moments together, and she let them have one last touch. enjoy the last moment.
