Just thinking about different iterations of gothic romance demon/monster killer/stalker LuLaw au's for Halloween season

An Au in which Law has his devil fruit powers but is also some sort of supernatural killer. I'm always partial to werewolves and vampires

The Donquixote Brothers did get Law the op op fruit but at his young age, he couldn't use it effectively enough to cure himself so he was still dying

Out of desperation, moral ambiguity, and shared hyperfixation on power. The brothers reconcile to find a new solution to buy Law more time. They successfully track down a werewolf/vampire & have him turned

Law, now an adult lives day to day as a Donquixote Pirates lieutenant The Surgeon of Death, one of their fleet captains and leader in his own right.

In the daytime he keeps his supernatural nature under wraps with his devil fruit power but his reputation still proceeds him, death follows him wherever he goes.

The combination of his monster nature and his op op fruit suppression makes him a berserker who's very difficult to trigger. In times of duress/stress/hightened emotion, during full moons, when exposed to blood and violence, his mask can slip

Usually just a little, sometimes a lot

To keep his natural thirst for blood under control he hunts Marines, competing pirates, and ppl he just doesn't like at night, in complete secrecy. Not even his uncle's and benefactors know how deep his monstrous need to hunt goes.

Then there's Luffy, semi professional pain in the ass, active threat to the status quo, and irrepressibly cheerful, juggernaut of violent positivity.

They meet on the battlefield Sabaody and then again in Dressrosa, Luffy takes apart the gladiator system and the slave auctions but doesn't depose Doflamingo & Corazón as the leaders is Dressrosa and The Donquixote Pirates bc he doesn't know who they are yet and doesn't really care. His goals are to fight the emperors of the sea not waste his time on kings, warlords, and crime bosses

Law sees it as no real loss, he's been pushing his uncles to get out of the slave trade for years. It's bad optics, messy, and its gives to many of their resources to the government etc

He doesn't love it anyway, he remembers being powerless. Good riddance to bad business.

After he fights Luffy, Law gets a little obsessed with him, he's just so bright, so... Law doesn't know, something about him makes Law desperately hungry. He starts hunting more often

It escalates to watching Luffy anytime he can, anyway he can, though he likes doing it in person best, following the effervescent glowing scent of Strawhat in the air, wherever he goes

It's more intimate

Eventually it escalates to Law taking Luffy in the dead of night. He wants a taste and anyway everywhere Luffy goes he leaves chaos in his wake.

Law hates chaos.

Once Luffy's captured, Law is absolutely certain he's about to have everything he's ever wanted

Everything he's ever needed.

Luffy, who's being annoyingly chill about the whole kidnapped by a murderous monster thing, reveals himself to be a Demon

That's what the D is for silly Torao

Law swears that's stupid, he has a D too, he's not a demon or a half demon or anything else

Luffy just laughs, are you sure?

Maybe Law's not so sure. Would Doffy & Rosi know if he was? Would they tell him if they did?

Luffy starts teasing Law then, tells him he's been watching Law hunt him for months, that he's been waiting, luring him in, hungry for him to make his move.

He wants Law to fight him, to bite him, to taste him. He wants to taste Torao again too.

He decided months ago on Dressrosa, the first time he tasted a little of Law's exquisite blood, all that power and passion, that he was going to make Law his forever.

The consummation of that relationship is extremely violent. They couldn't be happier.

They were cornered, seastone-loaded muskets pointed at them from every angle. Sabo knew the den-den mushi in his hand was worth a lot, but this?

Luffy had stopped just as he had, was looking between the guns and Sabo, questioning.

Sabo had one final trick up his sleeve. He had no idea if Luffy still remembered, or if it would even work, but the slight clicking of guns in shaking hands made him straighten.

"Luffy." He said, and his little brother snapped to attention. "Eat them." He ordered, and everyone froze.

Luffy's chuckle bounced off the walls, his eyes alight with mischief. He turned to face the firing squad as his grin grew larger and larger, cutting through his face in an unnatural way until the corners of his mouth seemed pinned to its ears. It's eyes were less brown and more yellow as it's pupils shrunk to pinpricks and although it hunched it only seemed to grow taller. It's arms were thin, but far too long, nearly dragging across the floor. Tap. Tap. Tap. One foot in front of the other, every step clicking like an old clock, counting down to something. It chuckled but it's face didn't move, just stayed showing more teeth than a human should have, head leaned to the side like it didn't quite belong on its body. The shaking of guns was louder, one brave fool shot and missed.

It's head snapped to the sound, and then one long, long arm snapped up to grip the fool by the head. It's mouth opened.

'Eat Them.', that's what the thief had said, and now it's mouth was wide, too wide. It dragged the fool closer, who scratched uselessly at it's single hand and scrabbled to get his feet under him. It was going to Eat Them.

Another in the firing squad dropped his gun, it misfired and made a noise just startling enough to make all the other guns drop while the squad all pushed over eachother to run.

The echoing laugh followed them, but Luffy stayed where he was.

Sabo hit the single man with a pipe, knocking him out. "I can't believe you remembered that!" He cheered, snickering.

Luffy laughed harder, letting his bones right themselves. "That was awesome! I gotta tell my crew when we get back."

New idea, Not quite Charlotte d Luffy au.

Pretty much what If Dragon didn't get his son back in the Charlotte d Luffy au. Ace and Sabo are 3 years younger and Luffy looks a lot more like Dragon in this.

Luffy doesn't talk until he's 12 in this and even then it's only when he meets Shanks by chance.

He'll still get the Nika fruit but because it's based around creativity and this is my au it doesn't act like it does it cannon.

Luffy will still be rubber but instead of 5 gears he has 4, essentially gear 2 and 5 stay and a middle gear that make his eyes red and hair white. He'll also be a cryptid fuck.

He'll use a double sided spear in this too.

Anyway very few people now that Luffy can talk, Katakuri is the only person in the Charlotte family who knows that Luffy isn't mute.

When Luffy is 14 he disappears and ends up in the east blue and meet Ace and Sabo. They form the Spade pirates and Ace's and Luffy's crews mash.

Dispite the crew being named the Spades Luffy is seen more as the captain than Ace is.

Luffy and Garp meet and the first thing Garp says is "what in the mini Dragon"

Grap laughs his ass off when he learns that Luffy is Dragon's son. He isn't as amused when he learns who Luffy's mother is.

Garp never pushes Luffy to join the marines because of this.

Though he does call him a bad influence.

There was a humming, a slow tenor that seemed to be coming from just where Shanks couldn't see it. It was a sea shanty, he recognized, as his mind tried to make shapes in the fog so thick his lungs were heavy with it. A child's voice, but there were no children where he could see. He watched the wooden dragon marking the bow of the Red Force cut through the fog lazily, drifting, almost.

The song was one he hadn't heard before, or maybe he had, just not this stretched. He almost wished it would echo, just so he knew the inky blackness trying to claw at his lantern would have an end. It may have been night, all the crew was tired, so they decided it was night. It all looked the same, the sun didn't touch this place.

The song had woken him up, he'd fallen asleep on the deck after another day of nothing to do but drink and wait for the fog to clear, and the music was the most to be heard here past the gently rolling ocean.

Shanks stretched the arm holding his lantern as far as he could reach, still looking for the source. If there was a child here, they were probably either abandoned or shipwrecked. He wasn't a fan of kids, but he wouldn't let one sing their own funeral dirge if he could help it.

The voice was getting closer, and Shanks ignored the itching of wrongness that tried to chill his bones. He'd been around the world, and as a teen no less, he'd seen worse things than a lost child, no matter the possibly violent circumstances they're in.

He wanted to go wake up someone, Ben, anyone, but his feet remained in place. He needed to see the child before he knew he needed help, what if his crew argued to ignore it to leave the fog faster if they knew? He knew they wouldn't, he knew they were better than that, but what if?

He questioned himself in his own head, wondering what brought on these thoughts. The music was louder now, haunting, beautiful, overwhelming, enrapturing, dangerous, intriguing. His thoughts were concise but his emotions were dizzying, his hands shook with fear and his eyes were alight with eagerness.

"Hello?"

He hated the way his voice sounded, choppy, stupid, not at all like the music it cut off. But how could the child hear him? He was so far away, he didn't speak any louder than a mutter, he was sure.

There was a giggle, light, like it was amused, but the voice wasn't in front of him anymore, nor wrapped around him. His spine straightened, his hackles rose back up from where he tried to drown them, his breath caught as the prickling dread from earlier came back like vines of ice holding his joints stiff.

He didn't want to, he didn't want to, he didn't want to--

His head turned to look behind him. It should be a little boy, maybe six, wearing a white and blue jersey, a pair of cargo shorts and some sandals. The figure was small, skinny, its arms just a little too long and its smile stretching its face more than skin should. Its eyes were yellow, there was a drum beat surrounding it, slower than his own violent lurching heartbeat.

It isn't a child.

That's all his mind can say clearly through its half desperate shots of adrenaline that make Shanks think he almost might be able to run, if only terror hadn't locked his limbs like pre-emptive rigor mortis.

It was still giggling. It started stepping closer, its hands dragging against the deck and its head lolled a little as if it wasn't supposed to be on its shoulders.

Shanks couldn't move, he couldn't breathe, it stepped closer, he felt the breeze cool the tears on his cheeks. Every instinct he had was screaming, if only he could too.

"I'm sorry--..." He choked on the whisper, he didn't know what he was sorry for, maybe speaking, maybe coming here, maybe not spending that one more day with his baby girl.

It stopped, and the smile fell from its face. Its arms crossed, becoming proportionate in the time it took to achieve the action. Its eyes dilated from pinpricks to cover the yellow, making the colour darker, brown, normal. "You're blase, mister. I thought you were compelling since you said 'hello' to me, but you're just a crybaby like every other jack-tar." He accused bluntly, and Shanks would have questioned the old and choppy wording were he not trying to stop the violent lurching in his chest.

"H-Huh?"

There was a hinge creek, loud as thunder against the silence, both sets of eyes snapped over to see a man with long gray hair and a lantern coming up from the men's quarters through the thin fog the distance gave.

It started laughing again, louder than before, turning to face Ben, who was staring frozen as Shanks had been not a moment ago.

"No!" Shanks barked the second it made a move toward his first mate. All at once it snapped back around, its eyes almost glowing yellow and the corners of its mouth almost seemed to be pinned to its ears. It drew its arms back and they shot forward, pushing Shanks off the bow from where it stood two meters away. Shanks heard a gunshot before his senses were eaten away by the ocean's cold, all encompassing depth.
