About the third challenge: I don't think anyone's going to crack the code. The words-to-numbers trick might involve just a little too much math.
This means the next challenge will be published on Tuesday (since monday is consumed by Easter, after all.). The next challenge involves no math beyond simple adding, so if you couldn't solve this challenge, it is still possible to solve the next.
However, if there are people that still wish to try and beat the system, I will still give you guys a final hint, since I am nothing if not generous: If tonight, someone sends me an ask that contains a sensical text, I will (publically) answer that ask with the same text, but encoded the same way as the first two texts.
Otherwise, just wait until next week, and I will have a new and exciting challenge ready. =)
For the last challenge, three people managed to crack the code, and one of them even managed to win a prize by doing so. Now, I feel the need to step up my game even further, and as such, the next challenge will be a little bit harder.
Again, I will be looking for a twelve-letter code in my inbox. I am afraid that there's no prize this time, but you will gain a sense of smug intelligence for beating it! (That, and I shall most definitely remember your name)
Now, while you can technically crack the code with just this string of numbers, I do admit that it might be very hard. Therefore, I will be delivering additional hints as the week passes.
And if you don't like numbers, I'll promise the next challenge will feature letters again.
(For those that missed it, a link to the first challenge: http://majestictelekinetic.tumblr.com/post/79903271729/as-you-may-or-may-not-know-one-of-the-areas-of-my)
I actually did get some responses to the first challenge, and I am quite thankful for that! In total, two people got the sequence! (and I think another understood it but did not send my an answer). Thank you for participating!
Now, I am not sure if people actually want me to announce the succesful code-crackers. If you cracked a code and you want me to share it, do mention it in the ask you send!
Now, I have a second challenge ready, and as promised, there will be a reward for the first one to crack the code and send me the 12-character sequence embedded in the text through a Tumblr ask. The reward will be the game "Revenge of the Titans" on Steam. If you are not interested in this, I am sorry, I hope there will be better rewards for you in future challenges.
Oh, and I will not respond to messages UNLESS they contain questions or the wrong code, in which case I will either answer them or inform you so you may try again.
As for the actual challenge is, it is behind a readmore, as it is quite lengthy! It is also a bit harder than the previous one, but it should be doable.

As you may or may not know, one of the areas of my interest is cryptography. Lately, as a way to pass the time, I programmed some very simple cryptographic methods and encoded some messages with them. And now, I would like to use them to challenge my followers/people on Tumblr. See it as a riddle!
Each challenge consists of a ciphertext: A few English sentences that have been scrambled seemingly beyond recognition, but there is always a method to unscramble these texts. Each of these ciphertexts will also have a (random) twelve-letter sequence embedded into it, often in the form xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. If you manage to crack the code and obtain this sequence, send it to me in an ask and I'll record it!
If there has been interest, I will continue these challenges, and I might even start thinking about a reward for those that manage to solve several of these challenges. ;)
Here comes the first challenge. Do not overthink this, it is an easy one. Also, the titles of these challenges may or may not contain a hint.
