Goodnight, A Year Later

A year has passed since we said goodnight, In the grand scheme, just a flicker of light. I hope your days have been filled with cheer, Life's twists and turns, all lessons we hold dear.

Through trials faced and joyfully earned, May happiness linger where the heart has yearned. So here's to the moments, both bitter and sweet, In this dance of existence, may we find our beat.

Though time stretches on, and seasons unfold, Remember, dear friend, the stories we've told. Goodnight once again, as we journey ahead, With hope in our hearts, and dreams that we’ve imagined.

Inspired by a photo I had taken of the Stardust Motel sign leaving Marfa, TX - commissioned/ illustrated by St. Narcissa for the visual component to my audio poem James Dean - I wanted the listener to be transported to desert highways late at night coming across all the imagery explored in the spoken prose.
