Not exactly a cat for #Caturday... However, the elegant and powerful fossa was once believed to be a primitive cat. It was thought that the fossa evolved differently than others in Felidae (cat) family because its home of Madagascar has been separated from any mainland for millions of years. Today we know this #AwesomeAnimal is in its own family, Eupleridae, that includes other unique mammalian carnivores native to Madagascar.
