Crypts of Despair - We Belong in the Grave
Death Metal from Kaunas, Lithuania
Lithuanian band Crypts of Despair have exemplified playing death metal in a fierce, ruthless and ball-bustingly heavy way. Just when you think they had perfected their sound bolstering it with all the right dark and vile elements on their highly acclaimed previous album, they decided to hone their sound some more on their new one. Clearly, they are not content to bask in the glory of their past efforts no matter how good they are, and have evolved and refined their sound further. The new album retains the band's intimidating demeanour but now the music is comparatively more condensed, visceral, intuitive, and even displays hints of melancholy. The execution remains forceful and the riffs are compelling enough to commit crimes, egged on by the relentless barrage of seemingly multi-tongued demonic vocals.
