А вот и он! Пожалуй, самая редкая и удивительная моя находка. Самый настоящий аммонит, был полностью скрыт внутри конкреции, пришлось колоть молотком прямо на месте)
Аммониты – древние морские животные, жившие на Земле около 400 миллионов лет назад, начиная с девонского периода и заканчивая меловым, примерно 66 миллионов лет назад. Это головоногие моллюски, родственники современных кальмаров, осьминогов и каракатиц. Встречаются в осадочных породах, известняках, мергелях и глинах.
And here it is! Perhaps my rarest and most amazing find. A genuine ammonite, completely hidden inside a concretion; I had to hammer it out right there. Ammonites are ancient marine animals that lived on Earth approximately 400 million years ago, from the Devonian period to the Cretaceous, approximately 66 million years ago. They are cephalopods, related to modern squid, octopus, and cuttlefish. They are found in sedimentary rocks, limestones, marls and clays.
Some treasures from the Royal Sashatchewan Museum, as well as some found rocks from the area (one of them is perfectly split in half).
There's an ammonite fossil, agates, rutilated quartz, some type of jasper (I think), and dinosaurs!! >:)
One dinosaurs is a stegosaurus, and the other is maybe supposed to be an iguanodon or some type of hadrosaur.
