Xestoleptura crassipes, a species of flower longhorn beetle.

I’ve been inspired by the Gravettian “Venus figurines” (though obviously they predate the concept of that particular goddess).

So I wanted to made a few palaeolithic ladies of my own. I used salt dough and painted them to look like stone.࿐࿔*⋆⍋*.･.

The central one is a replica based on the most well known artifact of these figures: Venus of Willendorf (in lower Austria).

The one on the right side is based on one of the Venuses of Kostyonki (in Russia).

The one with her arms up is a design I made up, just to try out a different pose. She could also be added to a hanging charm or ornament! :)

Another scrap yarn spiral I had been working on this past while. This one is made of dark blues, black with gold, grey with white, and an earth-toned multicolour. ☾࿐༄࿔.

I've been very interested in the concept of sacred springs and wells lately, so I tried making it look like a dark whirlpool with the night sky and stars reflecting on it, as well as some fallen leaves or algae. ☾࿐࿔*:˚₊·. I also think it looks like a spiral galaxy formation.˚⋆˚₊ <|:^) ·₊˚·₊

Turkey tail mushrooms with beautiful shades of green growth, as well as some other forest fungi and flora.

June beetle on a spruce tree.

Maple tree eyes blinded with a layer of whitewash lichen.

Another crocheted spiral I’ve finished recently. I reused a lot of brown yarns that I unwound from some old projects, as well as a large roll of gradient yarn (taupe to sandy brown).

I like that this spiral ended up looking sort of like a tree stump <|:) The darker colours near the centre are like the heartwood.
