The earthmeats
me when my pet rock that I sleep with every night goes missing:
ROCK SHOP HAUL!!!!! apologies for the blurry photos, i did my best but my phone is old and i don't know what i'm doing 🙃 ALSO i am a newbie at rockhounding. my selections are entirely based on glittery visuals and vibes. i don't know where these were sourced from, besides that i bought them at a local new-agey crystal shop.
top: the first rock i picked up in the store. obviously. i'm not 100% but i think this is lazurite. one of the coolest crosscuts i've ever seen, i'm nuts about how those veins look. blue cheese vibes. like cracked glass. so cool!!! i'm obsessed w this one
2nd from top, left: teenty tiny citrine! i have another citrine that looks exactly like an egg yolk, but the transparency on this guy is so cool. i dont think it's rutilated, just kinda looks like it. i really liked the honey colour and the cloudy white on the bottom, reminds me of a sunny cloudy sky or something. very pretty, one of my smallest bois
right: the coolest fluorite colour i've ever seen in person. it's pretty magenta pink held up against a light, but without a backlight it is a very rich, warm wine red colour.
3rd from bottom, left: pretty chlorite chunk. it's really smooth and a weird texture for a rock, and chlorite is pretty prone to flaking and chipping so they probably shellac'd it for sale purposes. i am okay with this, it's a fucking gorgeous colour. the photo doesn't do it justice, the colour is more of a pale green, almost jade except for the yellow tinge. i like the shape and the shade, can't really explain why i love it other than it just kinda drew me in. #myrock
right: fuzzy malachite!!! fuck yeah fuzzy malachite! i have a couple of solitary chunks of fuzzy malachite but the low, cropped way it grew on top of this tourmaline chunk is so enchanting. it looks like a tiny mossy rock!!! i'm so delighted, it looks like a piece of scenery out of a tiny fairy garden or something :D
2nd from bottom (left and right same rock): one of the coolest lil guys i've ever seen, tbh. she is a simple titanium quartz geode half, but bro. look. the back is cloudy quartz but it's semi transparent. you can shine a light through the white quartz to make the inside sparkle. it's fucking magical. i wasn't able to take a video of it that satisfied me so you'll just have to enjoy the pictures, but goddamn. like the smallest geode, too!! babey! isn't it cool??
bottom: one of the prettiest polished agates i've ever seen. i LOVE the colour and swirls, and the black pockmarks just add so much personality. it's such an elegant looking rock, but it's not actually anything special, y'know? that's my favourite kind of rock, tbh. something that is on paper pretty common, but something mundane about it just. elevates it, makes it special. there is so much to look at and appreciate on this agate, it's so detailed.
i love rocks. they are natural history and science and art. i am redoing my rock collection display, when that is finished i will post updated pics so you guys can see the whole thing. i need more fossils. thanks for looking at my new rocks! :y
Literal marbles or mental marbles?
If you have literal marbles I want to see them.
okay sadly only mental but while i was making that post i was trying to evoke the Gift Shop Rocks. let's go here and look at them
wanted to show yall some of my beach rocks in detail!!! and I like sorting things. in my experience, pink/red/orange and white/gray are very common, while yellow/green is less common, and anything that could be considered purple/blue is quite rare
here we have my pink/red, yellow, white, and purple(ish lol)
are they not delicious? #myrocks
The worst part of moving that no one really talks about is trying to figure out how to organize and safely pack ~200 rocks of various shape/size/fragility
