She smiled a sorrowful smile, Azure optics looking deep into those of the Guardian as she place a gentle hand on his cheek. "Though I may have no Heart, I do not need one to know that I love you and that I always will. Not for one second have you ever left my mind, Data. No matter If I should leave this world and return to my original form. You were the one who remembered me, when others did not. We will meet again.--- Never forget." Her voice laced with that same kindness it always held.
A strange sort of solemnness filled the space around the two, heavy in the air and all but suffocating. Her touch was always a comfort, even in this trying situation. Leaning into the touch slightly, his eyes never left hers, trying to hide the fear, worry and despair building in his heart. What if she was gone for a long time like he'd been? Would she be alright? What if he never saw her again? The last thought was what did in the Guardian's resolve, crystal tears building in his eyes.
Although her words were a comfort, the pain was still there in his heart. It felt like he'd only just returned, like things were just now getting back to normal, and now everything would be different. "I won't forget, Naminé. I'll never forget." he eventually spoke, voice hushed in an attempt to keep his emotions from showing through so much, although his control over them was quickly failing.
"I... I love you, Naminé. More than anything else in all the worlds. You're... you're my angel." his voice broke under the weight of his emotions, tears rolling down his cheeks, "I'll wait for you, forever if I have to. I know we'll meet again. I promise you I won't stray far." his voice wavered and fell into silence, unable to bring himself to speak anymore.
Without another word he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her lips, and pulled the Nobody into his embrace. He never wanted to let go, to see her go. He wanted her with him, but he knew he had to let ago. She would return, he knew it, but just seeing her go would break him. But he had to do it. He had to trust her, to have faith in her, and take comfort in the fact she'd return to him. One day.
"I'll see you soon, Angel."
