Can we talk about how Killian really does understand why Emma doesn't want to trust or develop feelings for anyone? He has been alone for so long, trying not to care so he could achieve his living reason (vengeance for his lost love), then he meets Emma and he gives up just to help her find her son? You don't give up on your life purpose for someone who you don't care, at least, too much. He's gonna respect her because he knows how she feels, and he's gonna help her find the one thing that made her the savior: Henry. If that's not Killian giving himself to Emma, then I don't know what it is.
