Could you explain having a problem with Emma's writing in s6, but not Hook's? There seems to be a glaring double standard from some about their s6 writing. It doesn't make sense, and as one who loves them the same, I can't get behind it. They both regressed, both kept big secrets from each other and everyone (two, in Killians case, the shears and Robert), yet some people hold those things against Emma only. I just don't understand why she gets criticized, but Killian gets a pass for the same.
I had a problem with the writing for Killian, too, but admittedly more problems with the writing for Emma; and it was not just about keeping the secrets. But I’m not going to pit them against each other and explain who was “worse” and why, sorry. I view their respective actions as actions of their own, as they should be. Because if I want to judge for example villain A’s actions and define if they were despicable or not, it doesn’t help to say “but villain B did worse things!” - that may be, but it doesn’t change the quality of villain A’s actions. That’s why I’m not going into comparisons here. And if I hold anything against anyone, it’s against the writers.
I think both were written out of character in some parts of season 6. After all they’d been through by then, I just don’t believe they would regress like that, individually and in their dynamics as a couple.
