(cw csa mention) I’m not bold enough to put this in any tags but if you’re with me as a fellow ae|eus fan and you ship ae|eus/|enzo please... take a moment to consider the power dynamics and history at play there? place yourself in ae|eus’ shoes and see if you can imagine going from being an adult living with a small child to being in a relationship with that child as soon as they hit adulthood. doesn’t that seem uncomfortable and unethical? probably not something an upstanding and moral person would do? I understand longtime fans mostly got into the ship via zex|ex when b b s hadn’t come out so the age difference & power dynamic wasn’t clear, and I respect your nostalgia & attachment to that dynamic but I strongly urge you to reconsider the way you approach the ship, especially in canon-compliant content. to be blunt hcing ae|eus as dating |enzo is hcing ae|eus as a child groomer and I uh. I really don’t like to see that romanticised! since 3 came out I’m seeing a big uptick in ae|eus/|enzo content and most of it is very fluffy and cutesy which is exactly the kind of tone that can obscure the unpleasant implications of the content and (hopefully accidentally?) normalise really unhealthy relationship dynamics. I think we can be better than that.
