something I really hate about fandom treating things like found family having romantic relationships as equal to incest is like. it’s so clear that they’ve lost sight of why incest is actually fucked up and that’s because of both genetic issues but more immediately relevant is, like, the fact that if you’ve known someone since they were a literal infant there’s going to be fucked up power dynamics that lead to romantic and sexual relationships to be inherently unhealthy and ripe for abuse. like, incest isn’t bad because it’s squicky it’s bad bc outside of like rare exceptions of like long lost relatives or whatever it’s inherently going to involve shit like grooming and coercion. which like. two grown ass adults who said they see each other like family once fifteen episodes ago isn’t going to have that. like it’s just fucking disrespectful at that point.
