The Star peered to her right, huddling the shawl closer around her shoulders against the night’s chill. It was a pleasant surprise to see another fawning over the night sky, basking in his everlasting beauty and glittering life.
Violet eyes, soft, watery and longingly returned to the sky, watching each star blink in and out of place against the black ink. She took a deep breath, swallowing thickly, as her heart ached just a little.
“Do you ever miss home?” she asked, tones chiming like a soft lullaby. Her gaze never retreated from the stars, remaining still, as though they were searching for something. Someone.
