Nashicon 2015 Homestuck Panel
Hi, guys!
I wanna remind you about the Homestuck panel at Nashicon 2015, held in Columbia, SC. The convention lasts from April 17-19, and I'll be keeping my information updated when we're assigned our panel time.
In the meantime, me and my other panel leaders have been trying to get auditions in for the in-character portion of the panel. So far, we don't have enough people interested to facilitate that portion. For more information, click here or here! There's also information on the Carolinastuck Facebook page.
If we can't get enough people by mid-to-late February, we're going to have to cut that part of the panel. But that's alright! We've also got great games planned, and will start working on prizes soon.
Soon we will be taking donations of hand-crafted prizes, and opening up a donation page for what we hope to be the grand prize:

So, Nashicon 2015 will be having a Homestuck panel. It has already been accepted, so we need some cosplayers to help out!
If you went to the panel in 2014, there’ll be some similarities, but we’ll also be having a “Homestuck Finale” game show with way bigger prizes than last year! There are a few rules for both attendees and applicants, but not many:
No swearing above the level of PG-13! Anything above that we will get in trouble. I get that there’s swearing in Homestuck, but we got to be careful. Censor yourself, please!
Absolutely no jokes or mentioning about buckets in any way, shape, or form.
No slurs or anything offensive. THERE IS AN ADDENDUM TO THAT. Clearly, if you’re going to call Karkat a “mutant” that is not a slur. Use discretion, and remember that beneath costumes, there are actual people.
The rules for panel members are as follows:
Sorry, but we’re only taking canon universe characters! That means no highschool AUS, no humanstuck, and unfortunately no tricksters (unless they are the Alpha kids tricksters, and then it’s debatable). I only ask this because it’s really hard to manage AU stuff along with canon stuff, so this is just easier for everyone.
There will be video auditions for characters! They can occur through Skype, but I will also have my submission box open and if need be, I will provide my email too. You do not have to be in costume for the audition, and it won’t help or hurt you if you are. I ask that you have a couple sample questions prepared to answer in character, and maybe read from a pesterlog as them or something. I just want to know that you can be in character and answer things interestingly. AUDITIONS FOR PARTS ON THE PANEL WILL CLOSE OUT ON FEBRUARY 25TH, 2015.
If you need help with cosplay, tell me! I can’t really afford to pay for anything, but I’ve got some supplies left over from the last couple of years so if you need help patching things up I’ll see what I can do.
You DO NOT have to be in costume for your audition. I said this before, but I want to reiterate. If you choose to, that’s fine, but this audition is largely based on your ability to be in character.
Now, here’s what the panel will be like! Nashicon says that they’re moving away from simple Q&A panels, so what they want is some diversity and other elements to the panel, so depending on whether or not we get an hour long or a 90 minute long panel, here are our components:

A small Q&A section
The bulk of it (I hope!) is to be dedicated to Homestuck trivia. That means we need prizes!! If you wish to donate some sort of Homestuck-themed prize for the trivia contest (even candy would be great, any kind of prize!) it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I will accept donations and any kind of help that we can get.
Eventually, we are going to be making a poll of what to use as the GRAND PRIZE. We have it between a SIGNED Con Air poster from Nic Cage, or a trophy. More details will be coming out soon.
Either a discussion on the end of Homestuck or a return to questions, depending on what the audience wants!
There are some characters that are taken, but you can feel free to audition for ones that are only possibly taken if it says so next to their names. You may also feel free to audition for more than one character, if you think you can play them, but you can only choose one for the panel.
Characters with a ✔ next to their names have been auditioned for already! You may audition if someone has a ✔, but this is just so that people are aware that auditions have been made. If a character is not officially taken, you can be anyone!
