I was flicking through my draft for the Red Undeath looking for something and unfortunately I'm pretty sure that I'm never going to finish it for a number of reasons (even discounting the shrinking audience I didn't properly plan it at all so it quickly got super overwhelming) but I did write a lot that I still really enjoy so!

I owe credit for this headcanon to pathygen but for your consideration: Lady Caine gets contracted by Equis as a privateer, aka she gets to bully Coronan ships but Officially™. As part of the gig she gets her own Equis Assigned Seal, a Leopard Seal she has affectionately named “Punzie”. Truly a menace of the seas.

As a side note this is one of those fun things like The Ranger where it’s a canon part of my post-series au but doesn’t necessarily have to be exclusive to it either. Privateer Caine rights

Forgive me if someone has asked you this, but how do Rapunzel and Eugene react to finding out Gothel had more kids and Cassandra has an entire long lost extended family?

I think there's an immediate shock of course, and for Eugene it's not much more than that, he's got his own family surprises to be worried about lmao. For Rapunzel though there'd be this complicated barrage of lots of different feelings at once I think, insofar as understanding that there's something profound in finding other people who have shared trauma as you, but also knowing that these people are complete strangers who have nothing to do with her.

Rapunzel could find family in them but she doesn't need to because she already has a family, and I think that fact could also probably help her realise that Cassandra has different needs and this family is there to support her instead. So in a lot of ways I think she'd benefit more from the community of abuse survivors who all have these unique experiences, while understanding that this is a family Cassandra belongs to but not herself, and that's okay.
