I would be remised if i didn’t make a post about this one. This past October I got to do my first big commission with #ctandco at the #newyorkcitycenter. 15 minutes of solo Beatbox and 7 coregraphed tapdancers. Original beats. Two sold out shows. 2500 theatre. Both standing ovations. And not to mention a sparkling @nytimes review. While all that’s great, what I’m most grateful for is the willingness and belief to make something that’s true, authentic and expresses everyone involved in the process. The diligence and willingness that @calebteicher And everyone involved taught me what it takes to put something together of this size. Your a freaking genius dude and everyone you brought together to make this project come to life is so impressive. You’re one in a billion dude 🔥🔥🔥 My dad was sitting in the audience and he cried after the performance. @megananneferguson said he saw everyone stand up and applaud and he felt like everything he worked for was validated in that moment. That to me is success and is probably the most valuable thing to me on the entire world. It means everything to me to give my family name value and this moment was the culmination of all of my parents work. I cried too. It was a moment where my family was there to recognize how far i could take something I love. It was a moment where i didn’t have to play anyone else’s game. To really be myself and express what I wanted to in front of so many people. Making them happy. Bringing people together to give them something unforgettable. So thank you to @calebteicher for believing in my musicianship and talent along with the whole #ctandco team. I really can’t wait to do this again ❤️🙌🏽 2019.
