i'll be honest i think the reason dev doesn't have a mom isn't because of anything super angsty i think she just heard that dale wanted to name his son development of all names. and the divorce finalized by the time dev popped out. dale still stands by his decision ten years later btw he has zero regrets over this choice. he simply stayed winning and that's all that mattered
