“Sure, I got another two.” He snorted a little, his grin growing in amusement. “The blue one might go well with your eyes.” It was a tease but at the same time... It probably would go well with Steve’s eyes.

“Come on, help me finish this up and I’ll go teach you how to put one on properly.”

"So...Not that the sarong doesn't suit you, but when'd you think you're gonna start wearing pants again?"

“Oh, not soon.” He grinned right at him right away, cheeky and playful because he was in a good mood.

“We’ve got it all wrong, I’m telling ya. Ya gotta try this, the freedom in the downstairs department is liberating.” He leaned against the fence, taking a break he didn’t really need in moving the hay. “The question is when are you going to give up on sweaty balls and dress appropriately?”

He was mostly just teasing him back, because if there was one thing that he was really grateful for it was that their banter came natural to them once more and Bucky rarely passed an opportunity to indulge.

“What else is new…” he muttered and squared his shoulders, “so, if that’s the case they must be pretty damn stupid on top of everything I’ve already said, because you and I know that’s not the case. I guess some people just have to learn the hard way.”

Amelia nodded. “You... Captain, you should go. I can buy you about forty minutes.” More accurately thirty-five, if she’s being honest, but she knew Steve well enough to know he could make it out in thirty. Her whole objective is just to get him out, get him safe.

   The request had come from a place of weakness, and for a moment, Bucky cursed himself for it. Still, he couldn’t stop himself from asking, needing his best friend with him more than ever. Steve had somehow managed to survive without him for a for years, and yet Bucky couldn’t go even the tiniest bit of time now they were truly reunited. Since being with Steve again, the memories had come all the more easily, the pieces of who he once was starting to gel with the man he was now. Not to mention, he’d spent so much time by himself--sometimes he just couldn’t face it again.

   “Thank you,” he mumbled, feeling foolish, feeling like a child. But he appreciated the words deeply, gripping back.

Amelia glanced down at the ground with a frown, sighing softly, her shoulders slumping slightly. "I...I'm sorry, sir, I guess that...this... 'incident' with the Sokovia Accords is just..." Her voice trailed off as Amelia tried to force herself to smile, but she just couldn't muster it around Steve. "I guess it's just affecting a lot more than I thought it would, sir."
