"I'm pinned," Charles tells Arthur. "I'm behind the dumpster in the construction lot. There's-" He glances over, and has to duck back when a bullet almost catches him in the ear. "Still eight of them."

Arthur doesn't reply, but then he doesn't need to, because a bike comes roaring around the corner. It skids to a stop before the gates of the lot, and Arthur kicks down the leg, rising from the bike. The Maelstrom jerk, raising their guns-

Only to flinch as Charles starts firing, forcing half of them to duck for cover, torn between the enemy at their back and the one firing in front. There's a thump as someone hits the other side of the dumpster, closing in, using it as cover to come at him. Charles rushes them, surging around the corner and taking them out with a punch, sending them staggering back even as they start to raise their gun.

Movement in the corner of his eye catches his attention. More tagged targets only a street away, closing in quick. "We're about to have company!" Charles calls.

"Better make this quick, then," Arthur replies, dragging one of his mantis blades out of a man's guts. He kicks the guy away, sending him stumbling into another fellow. "Back up. I'm gonna finish it off."

Arthur take a step forward, flicking out his blades. Charles sees the change that comes over his vitals as he activates his neutral operating system, putting it in high-processing mode, the vitals in the corner of Charles' optics suddenly spiking as his heart rate surges, flaring red in warning.

the hospital being hacked is lowkey funny to me, esp the way Goodwin says “We’ve been hacked!”

I missed the first quarter of the episode and yet I missed nothing at all. At some point I questioned why I was still watching because I can no longer use the cast as a reason. The most interesting part of the episode was the gunshot victim and the friend who accidentally shot him. Noah Sexton’s adoration of Ethan Choi detracted from it slightly. Nothing is going to change my mind about Noah because I feel that the time devoted to him could be used to develop Robyn Charles.

Rhodes is great and all but their quick romance has not made me care about Robyn. At least one-third of the interaction between Reese and Dr. Charles should have been given to him and Robyn to give her a little depth. Dr. Charles should have been the one to witness her display with Goodwin not Rhodes. And I don’t see her anger as a legitimate lead-up to her delusions or whatever is wrong with her. If her condition turns out to be something of which she is already aware then that will make the writing seem even worse to me, since there was no reason to have her jump into a relationship if she knows she has issues. If it’s something new then there is no reason for it to be revealed this soon when they could have at least waited for the relationship to gel before the onset of whatever it is. I think mending fences between the father and daughter should have taken precedence over whatever drama is supposed to be generated over Rhodes and his new girlfriend.

Maybe they’re about to give Choi a new girlfriend since they finally had him say his was short-lived. Otherwise what was the point?
