Caring for your Cashmere Many of you may already know this technique for hand washing your sweaters but these instructions came on a hand written note with a vintage cashmere sweater I bought. I tried it (all but the ironing) and like the results. I also use a sweater shaver on an 'as need' basis for pilling. Here are the instructions: 1. Hand wash in a drop of Woolite (not sudsy) in lukewarm water 2. Let sit for 20 minutes 3. Rinse with cool water 4. Towel dry with large towel by rolling it up in the towel and gently pushing on it (don't wring or twist) 5. Dry flat 6. Iron with paper bag over it, on low heat touching the iron to the bag not directly on to the sweater (I haven't tried this step) 7.
