Hey, congrats on finishing TRC! :D just wanted to say that a few things in the last chapter are translated a little differently in the German version, and I feel like they make more sense in that one. like right after Syaoran and Sakura confess, the English version has Kurogane say "Let's see. I'm trying to figure out if now is too early to start the journey going." but in German Kurogane says "Uuuh...isn't it a bit too early to make us visible?!" (literally: "to show us")

Mokona: "You have no sense for romance, Kurogane!"

Kurogane: "You're the ones who dragged me here!" then Syaoran asks what they're doing there, Fai says Mokona told them where the two of them could be found. Then Kurogane says "Yeah, and you wanted to spy on them so badly that you made us invisible and inaudible with magic!"

I feel like it makes a lot more sense if Fai turned all three of them invisible rather than just himself, and that Kurogane would freak out when Fai suddenly makes them visible again right after the confession rather than randomly talking about journeying 🤔

also earlier when Fai talks about how everything has returned back to how it was but that some things that were destroyed couldn't be mended, in the German version he doesn't use "law" to say what Feiwan destroyed, but a word that means something more like "reason/rationality/sanity." which at least in the German version echoes more closely something Yūko said earlier in the story about what Feiwan was doing and why it has such dangerous consequences. hope that helps a bit!

I absolutely agree - it makes more sense that Fai was definitely making all three of them invisible in the confession scene, and I LOVE that final difference that ties the cracks in the universe to rationality and logic still being damaged rather than a specific law. That really makes the details fit so much better!

“You did all of this for me?” Castiel asked with a voice full of wonder.

“Course we did.” Dean patted him on the shoulder and then stepped aside to make room for the juggernaut headed their way.

“Do you like it?” Jack bounced over excitedly. “Dean said the streamers were stupid but I looked them up on the internet and it said they were very important for parties.”

Dean rolled his eyes. Streamers were… fine. It was the bright orange color that got on his nerves.

“Dean’s just anti-fun,” Sam said. Without further ado, he snapped a green party hat onto Cas’ head. “Happy birthday, Cas.”

Cas reached up to touch the cone where it sat crooked. “Why today?”

“Kid got it into his head yesterday that we should pick a birthday for you, so we took him to the store this morning and here we are.”

“Dean said it had to be a Thursday so we didn’t have time to order you a special cake, but the nice woman at the store wrote your name on this one.” Jack pulled Cas over to the table to show him.

“I didn’t say it had to be a Thursday,” Dean grumbled.

“You specifically said it should be the first Thursday in September instead of the same date every year,” Sam said and forced a party hat on Dean’s head.

“Bitch. Where’s yours?”

“Jack wanted two.”

Dean watched as the kid adjusted the pink and purple hats so they poked out from the sides of his head like horns. He rolled his eyes.

Cas came up to him with a plate full of cake, a completely enormous slice, which he then held out to Dean like an offering.

“Thank you, Dean.”

“Hey, it’s no big d- hey wait.” Dean grabbed the plate. “You’re supposed to make a wish. C’mon.”

Cas followed him back to the table where he grabbed a single blue candle from the bag of party supplies and shoved it into the slice of cake. With half a hope that Jack wouldn’t notice that the candles typically came before the cake was cut, he dug out his lighter.

“Make it a good one,” he said, and held the plate in front of Cas.

Jack perked up. “Aren’t we supposed to sing-”

“No!” Dean and Sam said in unison.

Cas smiled and reached out for the plate. But he didn’t take it. Instead, his hands covered Dean’s and he looked up at him before he closed his eyes and gently blew out the flame.

Dean’s heart stuttered in his chest. “What’d you wish for?”

Cas opened his eyes, opened his mouth to answer, but Jack beat him to it.

“No, it’s bad luck to say it out loud!”

“Did you read that on the internet, too?” Dean asked sarcastically. He ignored the twin looks of disapproval from Sam and Cas. “Fine, let’s eat.”

He never found out what Cas wished for. But later, Dean kissed him for the first time in the hallway outside his room and he tasted like vanilla frosting and Dean wondered.

27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?

lolll sometimes’m writing and i literally have no idea what is going to happen in the next sentence. my brain is doing something subconsciously that i can’t identify until it comes out. i definitely do the “daydreaming scenes” thing but like best case scenario i’ve daydreamed a couple scenes ahead of what i’m actually writing 😂 i DID write most of the last chapter of riptides many chapters prior, but that’s about as close as i’ve gotten to REALLY knowing i think... 

28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?

i’m going to interpret this question as if it’s asking what advice i would give past!me. so, firstly, i’d scold baby me for letting people tell me fic was Less Than and that i should toil in the loneliness of writing OG stories for an audience of 0. i would tell myself that it’s ok to have FUN writing and not be required to attempt the next great american novel every time i typed a word. 

and then when i started writing fic and posting my first few stories, the same thing: YOU DON’T HAVE TO IMPRESS ANYONE. THIS ISN’T A JOB INTERVIEW. i’m just playing! i’m just telling myself stories, all the daydreams i have except then they’re there for me to revisit in a solid form (--yes, i revisit my own stories often, visiting those versions of dean & cas like a bedtime story). and then sometimes other people get excited about them too, which is fucking wild and unbelievable! 

i wish i had known what that felt like long ago so i could’ve gotten around to it sooner. 

29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?

49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

i started reading fic around age 12 so no i couldn’t tell you the exact first one i read, but there’s this gundam wing* fic with like sex slavery brainwashing bdsm triad dubcon shit called broken jade that is perhaps the first fic i really LOVED, at around that same age 

*never seen it lmao but boy did i read a lot of fics

i was randomly browsing some blog, found iron man fanart i liked, followed that to some other blog, saw a screencap of Cas, found spn gifsets. Lazarus Rising was the first ep i watched and i was immediately a goner. Thought i would "just watch this for fun", then pretty quickly got sucked in and joined tumblr fandom halfway through season 8. since then it's been my entire life :')

lol I just saw random posts about spn but not enough to really get an idea of what it was specifically about, but I decided I was going to avoid blogs that posted about it until I’d marathoned all the existing episodes to avoid spoilers (I bookmarked for later XD). The only thing I got accidentally spoiled was Bobby’s death. And also Bobby’s part in Taxi Driver because I had not realized Taxi Driver had gotten out the previous night XD

Well, and Cas’ return in s7 because when he died I just needed to know if he returned, so I checked Misha’s imdb page XD I probably would have abandoned the show if not for Cas’ return actually... like, I was watching for Dean, but Dean with Cas dead was too miserable, I needed to know he’d get Cas back...

4. A set that flopped but deserved better.

Oh, wow. Okay, this one, I guess. I only noticed Dean tapping when rewatching the episode and this small detail seemed very captivating, another example of Dean being tactile and using his hands, I had to gif it and I don’t even mind if it flopped :D

34. Set that took you a long time/was really hard but you’re really proud of how it came out.

This is actually interesting because it was this gif set I made for you :) It was quite hard to get the timing right when separating the frames for each gif because a lot happens in very little time, and at the same time staying within the size limit.

47. Any advice for novice gif makers/people who want to start making gifs?
