ALBUMS OF THE WEEK: Here are the nine albums that got the most plays from me this week. The clear winner this time was Cult Burial’s new self-titled album. This is high quality blackened death metal from London, UK. Simon, the band’s main dude, brought this one to my attention and I’m very glad he did. It’s heavy with lots of cool atmosphere (like the last half of Decapitated’s Anticult), and has lots of memorable riffs. Give @cult_burial a listen on Bandcamp. In addition, Sulphur Aeon’s new live album got lots of plays. The sound quality on this is top notch and it’s one of my favorite releases of the year. Lastly, that new Wayfarer album is the gift that keeps on giving; it is another contender for AOTY. 1. Cult Burial - Cult Burial (2020) 2. Sulphur Aeon - Unaussprechliche Kulte (2020) 3. Wayfarer - A Romance of Violence (2020) 4. Vordr - Vordr (2020) 5. Alice In Chains - Live 6. Skeletal Remains - The Entombment of Chaos (2020) 7. Alice In Chains - Alice In Chains (a/k/a Tripod) 8. Cannabis Corpse - From Wisdom to Baked 9. Minenwerfer - Nihilistischen
