It is part of the archivist’s responsibilities to keep up-to-date records of the Order’s arsenal. Every weapon is catalogued with a description and a list of its current and former names, along with a history of its wielders. Unassigned alassar is noted along with a list of potential candidates for inheritance. Should a Wayfarer die in the field, retrieving their weapon takes priority over retrieving their remains. When alassar is lost for good it is marked in red in the record.
Due to the Order’s inability to communicate quickly via magic the archivist relies on letters from the field to receive updates on Wayfarer movements across the continent. In the past, the Order has hired assistance from non-magianic associates in Talirin to accelerate communications with their allies across Rhesainia. The Arcanists’ Lodge once had a tenuous agreement to carry the Order’s messages but it has not been in use for years.
By the time the Spire falls over half of the Order’s alassar has been lost to bandits, collectors, and other parties interested in this irreplaceable material.
