🪓CHOPPING MALL🪓 1986 Horror/Sci-fi When the Park Plaza Mall decides to install a brand new state of the art security system, including iron shutters and a team of three semi-lethal robots, a group of young mall employees are in for the fight of their lives when a freak lightning storm strikes the computer controlling the robots, causing a short circuit. and sending them on a lethal killing spree. This is one of those horror films that I’ve run across the box for several times and for some reason mentally continued to put it on the back burner. Finally sat down the other evening to absorb what turned out to be quite an enjoyable 80s tidbit. There were many 80s movie clichés splattered throughout the film. From the oversexed teenagers making bad decisions, to quirky out of control robots, right onto completely and utterly clueless adults. Though this felt a lot less like a horror movie and a bit more like an adventurous mall comedy interrupted by our of control murderous robots. Did anybody else really expect Alison to be the last woman standing?
