I have been integrating a transformative experience I had a pivotal part in. It was a powerful message through feedback for both the one navigating the system and me, as the person blocking the status quo and creating a new direction. One that could be the change agent. I supported a submission to a governing agency by listening to someone in reaction having difficulty getting out of blaming and shaming, and right and wrong thinking. One where the reaction was at the stage of not being able to separate events. I began tracking it and stopping on each event to identify their needs to create a pattern that could be followed as a guide to make factual points in the submission. I decided to coach them in a particular way that is not in our general social conditioning. It wasn't for the faint of heart. However, in the pattern, I noticed a shift that was happening. The reaction was transforming into clarity that came forward to replace the accusations. The facts in a linear pattern told a different story. Separating the accusations from the facts created an easy pattern in a list that demonstrated a lack of professionalism. It couldn't be argued. They were facts everyone could agree on. It was powerful to the person it affected the most. It was submitted. A call came where a person reviewing it for the governing body stated. This is the pattern we have been looking for. It will help others in their submission, we heard. It turned out to be a model where the reader was able to witness the pattern which left the writer's need to be recognized met. The person who wrote it was acknowledged due to the lack of embellishment of personal opinions, viewpoints, beliefs and perspectives. There were no evaluative expressions that wouldn't be practical due to their broad meaning, which could be susceptible to misinterpretation. Those were left for the readers to come to their own conclusions based upon the facts. It's been a time of taking this in. It is one of the most relevant social conditioning topics trending at this time. It's a model that can support my local community through those citizens recognizing its relevance. I am proud of the model I spontaneously came up with to support someone, and proud of them for doing the hard work in the process that became the incentive for it. As a coach in a time of need, I will never receive recognition for this pattern. That is not a problem. I am celebrating the potential it may have for social change in an area most needed. It isn't speaking at it where there are no practical and doable actions available due to rhetoric. It is the change agent. It's about the contribution and not the status for me. It is the reassurance I need as a mentor and coach that I am on the right track. I am pleased.
