i love getting handed down cards. now, everyone is different, and it's not necessarily about how or where you got the tools of your trade from, but it's my genuine belief that hand-me-downs have something extra to them. I now am proudly in possession of a used playing deck that is actually just two playing decks that have been shuffled into one (same maker, different colors on the back) that is kept in an old plastic sandwich bag. gives some of the best readings I ever done. very talkative. the other deck I have that has similar Spirit (who I tend to refer to as ol' reliable lol) is my old rider waite deck. not a hand-me-down, but well loved to the point where the little box it was bought in has long since gone and I keep em wrapped up in a bandana instead. when I lost most of my possessions and been homeless, I lost my decks too, but that one came with me. survived in my pockets against the elements with me.
i love collecting cards that are new and lovely as well, but no matter what, every time, they don't compare to an old, well loved deck of cards in a red bandana or a sandwich bag.
