We will unveil these at the start of each week. Now there is a lot below, but we have had Sand In Our Cracks, we TIKIed til the sun went down, we said WTF to the changing seasons and we told the holidays to SUCK it. I know we are all at the CALIBER to take it to the next level, each at our own pace, each bringing that energy back to each other. so dig in!
Week 1 - "C" -, Compile, Canvass and Communicate
Cupid's Arrow for the Week: ....
...In the land of Spark, the Cherubescent Cupid, who would normally be Cheerily Crooning and Climbing up Clouds with youthful Candor, found himself unbuttoning his Corduroys and Cringing his Creased eyelids in weary reCollection of the overConsumption of the holiday season. Cram that damn scale under the bed, he thought. "Christen the new year with more Carrot Cake!" Cupid pulled a Corona out of his Classy Coach bag. (Yeah huh, he did.) Catastrophe began its Conquest. Cupid's Colon began to Counter- Consipire him and Collapse. "Crap." (hehe) Cupid was in need of Counsel, and in Communication with his other Celestial Cherubs, began to Consider Commencing better bodily Comfort. First thing's first, Condense the Crud. No more Corpulence inducing junk. But what next? Can you help a Confused and Cheetos dust Crusted Cupid find his way back on track?
Pick and choose from these, do them all or create your own. This is NOT my challenge- this is the AB! team challenge- but Im posting it here for everyone! This is the options- you can post yours in this thread! Have fun!
1. Set a Credible example.
COMPILE a list of your goals. This could be easy if you have already been chatting on the 2011 charters, dreams, etc thread and have some ideas. Maybe you have a Bucket List of things you want to do before x age. Maybe you have New Year's Resolutions. Perhaps you want to focus on the big picture. The little picture. Whatever you want - Compile a list. Even if it is your goals and objectives for this challenge.
When I first filled out this template, I misconstrued that it should be something about drinking water and walking to work. While those are my goals this week, I believe this challenge is asking us to focus on something bigger than our H20 intake. I have two major challenges in my life right now. Actually I have about 17, but I'm narrowing it down to two for this challenge. One is a monetary challenge that is necessary, the other is a large undertaking both financially and gutsy.
1. I need to get a computer. I'm turning freelance this year and I need a dependable one that can handle my workload. I also need to finish my book and writing by hand is growing ridiculous. I need a computer. Not a laptop. Not an iPad... a machine. An on-the-desk-need-a-guy-to-help
-move-it machine.
2. I want to go to Paris. It's an ultimate goal reward- but how would I feel if I got to my goal and couldn't celebrate the way I dreamed? This is an epic undertaking, cause yall know how I am and that means going alone. Much work is necessary. Including getting to my goal.
2. Do some research.
CANVASS a few or as many areas of your life as you'd like (family + relationships, work + school, hobbies + lifestyle, finances + daily life, health, etc) and make a list of all the pros and cons in those areas that are affecting your goals.
ComputerAcquisition Pros and Cons
1. PRO- easy peasy- I already have a cute desk in my room, near a surge protector.
2. CON- Im broke
3. PRO- I have started farting around with my 2011 budget and I saw a couple ways I could be saving money each month. I've been wasting tons of money on ATM fees and service charges.
4. PRO- this will help me finish my book
5. PRO- this will enable me to sell my work
6. PRO- Skype and Sims 2 are fun
Parisian Invasion Pros and Cons
1. CON- I havent taken a French class since I was 14
2. CON- ie i dunno how to talk French
3. CON- I don't know the area and plus that movie Taken scared the pudding out of me, someone who travels alone all the time, makes friends at airports and meets them for parties later. Must get wiser ASAP. (or make friends with someone that lives there already)
4. CON- plane tickets are expensive- I will need a couple years to save for this one, hotel, etc
5. PRO- I will feel like I am at the epitome of freedom, traveling around France on my own, and SKINNY
6. PRO- this is a chance for me to shoot some of the most beautiful people, places and things in the world (to me). I could easily print a book just on my shots of that city, Im certain- even if its just for my own coffeetable
7. PRO- fashion!
8. CON- Im not AT goal weight yet, so I have to earn this
3. Blow into Cupid's horn and declare yo'selves.
COMMUNICATE an action plan - draw a flow chart, create a vision board, write a manifesta, write a letter to yourself or someone or some people else who you have something to say to. Declare yourself. Post it here, post a picture on the team page or on your sparkpage and a memo in this thread for the rest of us (and Cupid) to go see, or write a paragraph to check in and describe what you did if you'd like to keep the details private.
Computer Acquisition Action Plan
- I just opened a Savings Account.
- I set it up to round up my purchases and transfer that money to Savings.
- I made a super sexy color coded budget in Excel (or SExcel if youre a mathophiliac like me) and I found a way to save a ton of money (and I didn't have to call Geico).
- I think that I may be able to get this machine by April- but just to leave space for time and unforeseen occurrences- I am giving myself a deadline of June 1 to have a big honkin computer.
Parisian Invasion Plan
- After I get a computer, Im going to keep that Savings account open for a paris fund.
- Im all set up on mint.com too
- Also once I get a computer, I am going to borrow my friend Jordan's boyfriend from Montreal, tie him up in the basement and force his sexy ass to teach me French (aka lend me the langauage program he used to teach Jordan French).
- Then Jordan and I will bring him home and I will run around Quebec practicing.
- In the meantime, I'm going to keep taking it 5 days at a time, losing weight.
- I would like to be back in the 160s by Valentine's Day. It sounds like Im erring on the side of easy, but I also know that I throw temper tantrums when I cant exercise the way I wanna- aka running from Russian spies and Jewel thiefs through the night in Chinatown.
4. COMPILE - new and quick workout activities that you could do on the go, in the office, while sitting, in a public bathroom, etc that require little to no equipment, in a pinch. Little things add up.
I don't actually get breaks at work, but I am rebuilding my consistency walking to and from and have a LOT of shoveling duty head my way - so Im going to skip this one. I have a ton of new workouts already that I just posted in my bedroom.
5. CANVASS - spark people, the net, barnes and noble fitness book section, spy on people in the gym and see what they're doing and report back to the team 1-2 NEW ideas you got from your gumshoeing that you had never thought of before.
Also, I'm going to skip this one, Im sorry- I have so much inspiration and motivation right now that if I go looking for more, I'm going to piss my pants.
6. COMMUNICATE - get some index cards and draw stick figures doing the activities - make your own exercise deck, get creative, put glitter glue around the edges and stickers, jazz them up. Punch a hole in the corner and put them on a clasp ring, or in a coupon organizer, or tie your extra gym hairband around them and keep them in your desk, pocketbook, coatpocket. Hide them around your house in places you normally go like the kitchen cabinet, the bottom of the laundry basket, under the hand soap in the bathroom, and do the activities on them whenever you come across them.
I'm doing my own version of this and revamping the guts of my gym bag. Washing it, getting new sample sizes of everything, giving it a special place by the door, etc. It will help me go there.
CAREBEAR BONUSSSSSSSSSS
- What other power "C" words can you Choose and Customize to your plan? Contribute some here. Cheer on your teammates. "...Celebrate and live yo' life." Consult a friend if you need inspiration. Crap Creeping up? Chair it for now and move on to the next good thing.
I'm adding CONFIDENCE. I need to start reminding myself that I have a lot of abilities and am very strong. I can make anything happen if I remember to focus. My brain, when activated, is like a million levels of consciousness trained on one thing- not unlike a kid with a magnifying glass torturing an ant. I need to go for it.
COME on! CUPID STARTS NOW!!!
