A record player has been moved into the kitchen. A hand moves to set he needle on the spinning record and slowly the music begins to play.
‘Stupid Cupid your a real mean guy.
I’ve got to clip your wings so you can’t fly.
I’m in love and it’s a crying shame!’
Cupid is dancing around the kitchen with his hair up in a messy bun and a pink apron around his waist. Bacon is on the stove and pancake batter is being mixed.
‘And I know that your the one to blame!’
He starts to sing along.
“Hey! Hey! Set me free!”
He spins on his toes as he moves to pour the batter out.
“Oh! Stupid Cupid, stop pickin’ on me.”
He has large bags under his eyes despite the large smile on his face. Like he didn’t sleep at all the night before. His clothes are rumpled and still the same outfit from yesterday.
“I can’t do my homework and I can’t think straight!
I need him every moment ‘bout a half past eight.
I’m acting like a love sick fool.”
He moves the batter into a heart shape and sighs happily.
‘You even got me carrying his books to school.
Hey! Hey! Set me free!
Stupid Cupid stop pickin’ on me.’
He moves his head to he beat happily.
‘You mixed me up for good right from the very start!
Hey! Go play Robin Hood with somebody else’s heart!’
He spins away to get some toast as the next verses begin. Only joining in as the chorus starts again.
“Hey! Hey! Set me free!
Stupid Cupid stop pickin’ on me!
Hey! Hey! Set me free!
Stupid Cupid, stop pickin’ on me!”
The record slowly fades out as the breakfast is being plates. The man smiling down at it.now to bring it to his dearly beloved~.
