There was something about running into the intriguing stranger again that made Squall break character and approach him first. This time meeting in the middle of nowhere while the other fished set a more neutral atmosphere. “How’re the fish biting?” Squall asked when stopping to stand by the guy, hands in his pocket and stance casual.

"You know Cor...sometimes you feel more like family to me than my own blood.”

Cor paused, looking down at the man, who was barely just a man, sitting on his couch. "Noctis, family is what you make of it. Blood is not thicker than water, as they say." Kneeling down in front of him, Cor placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Found family, or chosen family, is sometimes better than blood. I'm happy to call you part of mine."

Unspoken Fluff There was something to be said about being forced to take a break. Cor had lost himself in his mountains of paperwork after a full morning of long meetings and discussions. He never heard the soft knock on his door, nor the door opening, closing and locking. It wasn’t until a certain raven haired man had propped himself on the desk that Cor looked up from what he was working on.

“You know, for being the Marshal, I was able to sneak up on you quite easily.” a playful smirk danced across Noct’s lips. He glanced over at the paperwork Cor was working on and plucked it from his hands. “Oh... More of this?”

“If you had been in the meetings I was in, and then forced to work on that, you would probably be oblivious to the world around you too...” Cor didn’t fight as Noct took the paper, simply leaning back in his chair, tossing the pen down on his desk. “Unfortunately, yes, more of that.”

Noctis frowned and set the paper down, turning his attention back to Cor. “I wondered. You said you had wanted to get lunch today, but you never answered your phone. Now it’s well past lunch time, but I think you still need a break.”

All Cor could do was sigh. He had made lunch plans with Noctis, and got so wrapped up in his work that he forgot. “Noct, I’m-”

“Don’t.” Noct pressed a finger to Cor’s lips and gave a small smile. “I get it, okay? I see what you, my dad, and everyone else does around here. But you can make it up to me...” Pushing Cor’s chair back, Noct grabbed his hand and coaxed him out of it, pulling him around to the couch.

“Noctis... it’s the middle of the day....” Cor began as Noct turned him around and tried to force him onto the couch. 

Noct huffed, folding his arms while he looked up at the stern man. “I am well aware what time it is and I don’t want sex, at least not right now, just... Lie down please?” 

Cor let a small smile cross his lips as he sat and then laid down, with Noctis almost immediately sprawling across him, resting his head on the man’s chest. “I’m tired, I want a nap, and you’re one of the best places to nap on.”

“You’re such a cat, Noctis...” 

Noct yawned, wiggled a bit to get comfortable and nodded. “Mmhmm, but I’m your cat, so you can’t complain...”

Noctis looked pretty pissed off alright, pointing towards the citadel “You’ve been following me all the way from the mall till here, that’s kind of stalkerish you know?.” They weren’t quite there yet, but he’d had enough of being tailed and finally decided to confront his maybe stalker.

Noctis crossed his arms, looking this stranger up and down. They looked to be about the same age but he couldn’t remember a school mate looking like that and there were quite a number of lookalikes at his school, trying to copy his looks for whatever silly reasons. He couldn’t remember one of them looking quite THIS similar however.

“No. I haven’t seen you before.” He immediately crushed the stranger’s hopes but kept looking at him in deep thought. There was something about him that Noctis couldn’t quite place. Not unlike magic but still different, it was enough to make him curious at least. He lowered his arms, shoving his hand into his pants pockets instead. Sighing heavily his whole body language relaxed considerably once he decided this guy wasn’t a stalker after all. “What’s your name?” 

Blinking slightly, Fenneq followed the pointed out direction, head tilting to the side as he wrinkled his nose. 'Stalkerish'? He wondered what that meant. By the sound of it, however, it seemed to be nothing good, so guilty conscience kept creeping in, having him fumble nervously with his fingers. He had meant to offense, rather just did what he'd usually do when something caught his interest or curiosity - follow it to investigate!

Chewing on his lower lip, blue eyes darted back to the young man before him then who had now crossed his arms. "I really didn't mean any harm," he tried to reassure then, hand flying to his forehead to rub the center of it. A silly habit he couldn't shake, pointless as it was. His precious ruby was gone, and with it not only some of his powers, but also memories. And when he looked at the one before him, he could feel a tingling sensation of recognition. How curious!

Maybe, it occured to him, he should have taken his other form to follow him, a creature akin to a fennec fox would surely not raise so much suspicion? Stupid, really stupid. But nowadays, things had become overwhelming and thus, clever ideas dind't always come to him before he made a rash decision. Mind set to at least seem less threatening, he beamed a smile at the ravenhaired young man.

"I'm Fenneq! But you can call me Fen if you want?" Mortal guises, important! Oh, and also, they did something like shaking hands, right? Taking a quick step foreward, Fenneq extended his hand a little awkwardly, still all smiles and, unwillingly, probably looking a lot like a fanboy meeting his idol.

NSFW prompt list - accepting Cor had been high strung most of the day, and unable to focus on the paperwork on his desk. He and the prince continued to dance around around each other, playing a dangerous game behind his father’s back, knowing that if they were to get caught, the consequences would be high. Today was no exception.

Noctis had teased him with soft whispers in his ear between meetings, a heated kiss and a grope behind a pillar, with no promise for more later. Often times, Cor was able to push such encounters out of his mind, but today they were seared in. No matter how hard he tried to think of the paperwork at hand, Noct pressing up against him would drift back into view.

Glancing at the time, Cor knew that Noct’s training with Gladio was almost over, and he then he had one last meeting that Ignis would be taking him too, but he would have enough time between the two to listen to his voicemail. 

Leaning back in his chair, a small smile danced across his lips, dialed Noct’s number, and waited. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.  “Please leave your message after the tone....” “It’s a shame you’ve teased me the way you have, leaving me hard and wanting before walking away with a laugh. Too bad you have a meeting, and can’t be here in my office with me, I’d show you what you could do with that mouth of yours...”

He hung up. It wasn’t much, but knew how Noct’s mind worked, and it would be enough to distract him, let his mind wander to what would happen in his office.
