Plot Description
CureQuest is an Alternate Reality Game based around finding the cure for cancer – literally.
Eccentric but genius Professor Clyde Coyne arranged a meeting with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) to announce that he had found the cure for cancer after decades of research. Professor Coyne said that he would be presenting the cure to them for their approval after collating and preparing the information. Confident in Professor Coyne’s work, the ACRF made the announcement to the media that they would soon hold the cure to cancer, resulting in celebration nation-wide.
Sadly, Professor Coyne suffers a fatal heart attack before he can return to his apartment to begin preparing his findings for presentation for the ACRF. He had no research assistants, no filing system and no journal or log detailing his research. The cure is all but lost.
Ben Jones is the 21-year-old brother and primary carer of leukemia sufferer, Bianca. Bianca was recently told that her disease had progressed to the point where further treatment was pointless, and that her illness was now terminal. The announcement from ACRF raised Bianca and Ben’s hope that a cure would be available to Bianca before it is too late. Upon hearing the news that Professor Coyne had suddenly passed away and that the cure was unable to be found, Ben wants to find the cure himself. However as Bianca’s carer, he is unable to leave her side or take her with him on his quest.
The players’ role is to find the cure for Ben so that he can alert the ACRF of it’s whereabouts. Ben’s biggest wish is for the cure to be found in time to save his sister – this is the players’ mission.
