Coconut cream pie! Is one of my childhood favorite pies. A Mountain of fresh cream that wonderful warm taste and smell of toasted coconut - omg it was always such a treat. Truth be told my Italian pie making Mother never made a coconut cream pie in her life. But in the neighbourhood where I grew up and my parents lived for 50 years everyones Mom had a specilty. Thank goodness it took a village of baking stay at home Mom's to expand my palate.
