Coconut cream pie! Is one of my childhood favorite pies. A Mountain of fresh cream that wonderful warm taste and smell of toasted coconut - omg it was always such a treat. Truth be told my Italian pie making Mother never made a coconut cream pie in her life. But in the neighbourhood where I grew up and my parents lived for 50 years everyones Mom had a specilty. Thank goodness it took a village of baking stay at home Mom's to expand my palate. This was my favorite Dallas attraction as a kid. I used to always want to come to this park and get on the cows and would try to run through the cemetery next to it because I was scared of it. I would find “secret” shortcuts and cool hiding spots, and hop across the little river. The minute we parked I would just run away and disappear into this park, haha as you can tell this park takes me back. Now that big Omni hotel behind that tree definitely wasn’t there when I was running around here as a kid. #simplerdays (at Pioneer Plaza)
