Speaking of improvised theater tech, Curious Comedy Theater in Oregon is working on this insanely cool and MASSIVE upgrade to their technical setup and space. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with these beautiful people in Alaska a couple of years ago, and I just can't say enough great things about them as performers, artists, and just as human beings. They're making some outstanding theater out there in Portland.

PORTLAND: we’re teaming up with our pals at Curious Comedy Theater for a new series that will bring some of the best comics across the country to Portland, and we’re starting with this excellent MIKE LAWRENCE / NATHAN BRANNON show on April 29th. Click here to buy your tickets! Mike Lawrence is a New York City based comedian from South Florida who has found success in both writing and stand up. He is a staff writer on the upcoming season of Inside Amy Schumer and was a writer on the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, the 2015 Webby Awards, and We Have Issues on E! Mike is a recurring guest on the Comedy Central TV show @midnight and his stand up has been featured on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, TBS’ Conan, FX’s Totally Biased, and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show on Comedy Central. In 2013 His half hour special for Comedy Central aired in conjunction with the release of his album “Sadamantium”, produced by Comedy Central Records. Nathan is a comedian out of Portland, Oregon, who is consistently adding to his list of accomplishment year after year. Just a month into 2016, Nathan recorded his second album with Kill Rock Stars Recording, set to be released mid 201. He also signed with Kill Rock Stars in 2015, was the winner of the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2014, voted into the Willamette Week's "Portland's Funniest 5" in 2013 while releasing his first comedy album "I Black Out" that same year, and was crowned “Portland’s Funniest Person” in 2012. He has been featured on programs like NPR's Weekend Edition, and Laughs on Fox. Nathan has also opened for national headliners such as Dave Chappelle, Damon Wayans, Maria Bamford, and has photoshopped himself into photos with many more. Currently, Nathan is seeking a funnier way to end this paragraph.

Stacey Hallal (artistic director) and Chase Padgett (resident artist) continue their tour of the Fringe Festivals and continue to win over the crowds and the critics. Thomas Thorspecken of Analog Artist Digital World drew this illustration of their show Joyride during their show at the Orlando Fringe Festival where they won Patron's Pick for their Venue.

Thorspecken best sums up Joyride with this comment, "together they present a show that is as playful as two 10 year olds pretending to put on a show at bed time with flashlights and imagination."
