Btw, whenever I draw CurLiezel openly lovey dovey in the Pre-crash era, most of the time it isn't canon 🤷‍♀️ It just doesn't fit with what actually went down in their story since they never had the chance to do any of the sort...if only they had more time😔

Liezel finds comfort in comforting Curly in a way. It's very grounding and helps her from spiralling herself because atleast someone out there is suffering more than she is. This was a drawing I made last year ago but never got to post.

Holding onto a dead man

Curly has a special, and often unhealthy attachment towards Liezel in particular. Liezel has always been that special someone. She seems to be the only one who truly and fully tolerates him even when she's already at her wits end. She's given him more grace than he deserves but he's as grateful as he is ashamed for it. Liezel just begrudgingly accepts this role if not for affection then out of pity.

Happy Holidays❄️

While I drew this because it's still the Christmas season, there's actually some lore behind this. Before the haul at the Tulpar, Curly decided to walk her home after work. They talk about the upcoming haul and he asks if she'll come along because she usually doesn't come if it's a year long one or if it lands during holidays. Liezel always comes back to the Philippines for the holidays without fail but she's considers till she eventually decides that she'll be going.

They also do a good bit of flirting and banter here and there🙂‍↕️ Liezel talks about how she hates snow and winter, she never really got used to it but Curly is a winter kind of guy. He bets that if he can show her a good time via skiing, she might change her mind. In fact he offers her a skiing date once they return to Earth after the haul to which she agrees. It should have been their very first official "date".
