Every time I see this post, I just....get a little frustrated. Because they’re right. How many people have grown up thinking that their curly hair wasn’t something to be proud of? To love? How many of them thought they could never be pretty or cute because they wore glasses? And how many of them didn’t even realize that that was the reason why they didn’t think they were all that pretty? Or that they had to change their appearance to be pretty? I’ll admit, sometimes it’s nice to feel how smooth your hair can be when you’ve straightened it and that sometimes I wish I didn’t have to clean my glasses all the time and that I wish that I could see for free. But honestly? I’ve grown to love everything about my curls and my glasses! Like, I’ll see myself in the mirror or in a window or in a picture and I’ll think “wowie look at me go I’m such a cutie.” My hair and my glasses are a wonderful source of confidence for me.

 I mean, come on. Looook, curly hair and glasses are such a cute combo!

I sincerely hope that if you don’t love, or even like, your curly and glasses, that you come to realize one day that you don’t have to change because that is the “before” picture in a movie. We are not a “before” picture. We are a stunning snapshot in our current appearance, I promise you that. 

You are beautiful and pretty and amazing. With hair that has a nice bounce to it and is fun and absolutely gorgeous no matter what state your curls are in. Crazy bedhead curls? Just dried after a shower curls? Windblown and all over your face? Cute cute cute. And glasses that let you see the wonderful things that surround you? Most importantly, I hope, that your glasses let you see the amazing being that you are!
