Current Aesthetics

-Headlights catch animal eyes on the side of a pitch-black road. You can barely hear the radio through the static. -The blizzard rattles the door in the laundry room. The cat meows. An old movie plays through a rabbit-eared television. -A house in a blanket of fresh snow, the sky orangey-pink beyond. There is no wind, no birds, no people. Just the still. -The road is wet. The mountains are blue. The numbers were worn off the last roadsign. -A big oak desk, a small brass lamp. Typing, tea. The dogs play downstairs. The rain plays on the roof. The page fresh.
