My name

He is patient, charts a course

to possess my every thought

When I close my eyes at night

the buzzing sound of timbals

fills the dark and empty room

I wonder if I fill his chest

I feel his love as the sun rests

against bare skin: gentle at first

then deep enough to etch lines

never to fade, or erase in time

awash in a chorus of I love you

in repose beneath a July noon
