░ CHAPTER FOUR ░ The Lich
❝ surviving the blizzard is one thing, moving in it is another. the winds still howl, the snow still falls, the cold still burns. but at the very epicenter of it all is a demonic presence threatening to consume the land in ice and frost. one group’s strength may not be enough to take down this villainous super power. but perhaps this is when the civilized must band together, where loyalties might have to be bent or broken, where we are reminded that humanity should have one enemy: hell and everything that crawled out with it.”
▻ OBJECTIVES
Group Objective: Kill the Lich. Leaving the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office was tougher than expected. While the group reconvenes, a new group makes its presence known. Rebuilding a civilization in McGuire Air Force Base, this group has the unfortunate reality ahead of them that a monster has encroached with a wintery intrusion upon their home. Can the groups come together to take down the monster? Or will rivalry give the monster an upperhand, leading to devastating consequences.
Individual Objectives:
Learn your place in a patrol schedule
Meet someone from a different group
Choose between fight or flight
Survive (optional)
Lupus, do you hunt and eat smaller pokemon?
Previously... @ask-the-k9-team-members
“Oh, geez. That sounds fun, I’m up!“
“Looks like the black gummy is what I need. Lemme try!“
“Hey, you weren’t lying! It’s tasty for sure!“ “Bout the request, dear, I don’t need anything! That’s sweet of ya, but c’mon! I ain’t greedy, though I’d love if ya came to visit me one day. Berries, snacks, magicarp? ‘Kay, see ya!“
“I was here for too long, heh. Gotta go home now“
“Oh yeah, please, tell that kid (what was his name, again?), yes Ra! that he fought really nice for a child. Well, se ya!“ @sometimes-trike-raine
Lupus left the beach event over
░ CHAPTER TWO░ The Road Ahead
❝ out of the city, the world is quiet and barren. if there were survivors in Newark, they have long since vanished leaving little trace of where they went behind. buildings here are looted, ransacked by humans instead of monsters and the corruption from the hell gate still spreads its tendrils out this far. the monsters, also, have grown wiser. beware... ”
▻ OBJECTIVES
Group Objective: Plot a course. The group arrives at the Secaucus Junction only to see orange skies behind them, fire and smoke rising from Jersey City and a heavy cloud above what remains of New York. There was no rescue waiting for them. Only more destruction and devastation. Does the group hold onto hope and try to make contact with the outside world? Do they bunker down and try to reestablish a form of civilization here? Or do they pick a direction and go? The choice is the group’s to make.
Individual Objectives:
Discover hidden powers
Restock your inventory
Decide your role in the group dynamic
Survive (optional)
░ CHAPTER SIX ░ Vampire Country
→ relocation
Ending Location: Emmanuel Monastery, Lutherville, MD
On the morning of Sunday, August 5th, the group packs up and heads towards the west, changing routes to interstate 695 to circle around Baltimore and all the dangers it promises. Signs of these threats are visible the moment they leave; the road rising ahead of them with decaying bodies nailed to old power lines like makeshift crucifixes. Fog begins to curl across the asphalt despite the heat, clouds beginning to block the sun’s light. They don’t make it far. Approximately fifteen miles away, the road is abruptly blocked off, a fire scorched, jack knifed tractor trailer barring the way and another row of crucified bodies erected behind it.
Posted before it sits a sign:
The arrows lead them down the road to the Emmanuel Monastery, home to the Benedictine Sisters. Or what’s left of them. The nine women left don’t carry firearms or weapons, and show no signs of fear in the face of armed strangers showing up on their doorstep. They welcome the group with open arms, offering beds and food as needed. A prospering garden out back, and a well they pull clean water from.
When asked why they are unafraid, they all give the same answer:
The Lord protects us.
→ the town
While the sisters ask little to nothing in return for safe haven, every one of them strongly discourages anyone from exploring the surrounding area. They are warned away from local towns, and the threat presented by those who have not been saved.
PLAYER NOTES:
Despite the uneasiness the sisters might inspire, there is no obvious trace of magic or demonic presence within the monastery or their hearts.
Prophets may experience visions involving vampires and their offspring.
The area outside of the monastery is surrounded by an unnerving amount of revenants. While not approaching the size of a hoard, there are more than enough to imply a threat.

Heading down the highway, they will need to scout their route and gather supplies as quickly as possible, without getting too comfortable.
