I know this probably isn’t how Six Eyes work at all, but I was thinking about how it might work. Just from the periphery (no research AT ALL), I’ve heard that Gojo can a) see cursed energy and b) molecules. So I was thinking on how to combine that. First it got me to think about what cursed spirits are made of — negative emotions. And they form via a collection of nonsorcers’ cursed energy (which are excreted in small doses). Which made me think, hey what if the cursed energy they’re excreting are like molecules (bc they’re small) but just emotions instead of like… matter. Which then got me thinking about cursed chemistry and 2 big concepts: composition and bonds. Composition being that the big, general emotions are the atoms. Anger, Sadness, Disgust, Pain, etc., forming into specific molecules, like Pain of Burning and Fear of Natural Disasters, that then form into one big entity of Being Burned Alive via Volcano (aka Jogo). Each curse and its energy is super specific, because in my head, the molecules are usually difficult to separate unless someone dies. Which, speaking of separating molecules, my second point of cursed chemistry is bonds. I’m my very meager understandings of chemistry, there are weak bonds between similars (covalent) and strong bonds between opposites (ionic) — and I think these types of bonds would help categorize the grades of curses. So all grade fours are made up of similar, nonreactive negative emotions “molecules” which is why they’re so easy to exorcise. Meanwhile higher grades would be made up of mostly ionic bonds so they’re harder to exorcise. I feel it’s also important to mention that higher grades being made up of more varied materials, also makes them capable of cursed techniques. For example, Toji’s worm curse is probably 4th grade, made mostly of disgust, however Mahito (special grade) is primarily made up of hatred, but also fear, insecurity, alienation, humiliation, jealousy, and boredom. Which is also why every sorcerer’s cursed technique is unique to them (and sometimes hereditary), everyone has a unique combination of “molecules”. But yeah, I think it’s fun that Gojo can see all that, knows all that (bc he’s a nerd), but hasn’t explained it at all, because he’s a horrible teacher.
