Watching the new Fruits Basket anime made me a little nostalgic, as it was my first anime! So I thought it be a fun little varient human to make, but I wanted to make sure to leave it open ended to be adapted for different worlds.

This is Laske Talonear, he’s my cursed human OC that I’ve recently revived for some nostalgia. His backstory is detailed below the cut :)

Laske's story first starts in the 1700's where he reigns supreme as a benevolent ruler of sorts. He runs an organisation of assassins, which includes his two adopted daughters whom he has trained to kill. This has caused him to become wealthy. He was rich, powerful, and completely full of himself before his fall. His wife often told him that he was cold-hearted and she couldn't stand being with him anymore. Around him, she said she felt like 'a bird trapped in its cage'. At one point, her deviancy towards him angered him so much that he kidnapped her and took her to the edge of town where the cliff-face met the rocky shores of the sea. He told her: "If you're a bird, then let's see how good you fly" and proceeded to push her off the cliff into the waters below. Needless to say, she died and Laske continued his reign without a hitch. News had gotten around that he had killed his wife and the people of the nation were sick of his tyrannical ways. They got in contact with one of the witches of the land, a grand witch who's services were illegal to use unless there was a catastrophic event. She agreed to help with the problem that was Laske, and went to meet him for a 'business offering'. During their conversation, she had unexpectedly pulled a quick move on him and had forced him to the ground with a sword. It was then that she cursed him for eternity. She said to him: "Because of your ignorance, you lay here today on the ground, forever a fowl of the grains and mud, just as your wife now lives." She watched as the curse began to take effect, a creation of her magical crafts, his features becoming ever so bird-like, his back sprouting with wings. He could not use these wings to fly, as they were products of pain, something he would now deal with for eternity. After everything had taken place, he had tried to escape, but weary and in great pain, he fell into a deep sleep. The witch had him put in a casket and buried in the deepest mines of a cave, deserted, where he was to lay until he ultimately woke up and was killed by the next witch to inherit the powers and the knowledge of his existence. Now in our time, he has awoken, tasked with surviving modern earth's humans, all with the help of a young girl named Diana. ---------------------- That's the basics of his backstory :3 I have much to say about him but he's been in development for probably...hm...3 years now? And I've finally revived him, which is a really happy moment for me. I love bringing back my old characters.
