When people want to annoy mathematicians, they often resort to saying that the derivative is a fraction, but something that is far more irritating, and ultimately too complex to explain away is the fact that the dot product is, an operation between two vectors, the sum of the product of like component shared by two vectors. AND the divergence is a dot product.

Precious few of you know what cursed and evil Discord conversation this was for, back in 2023. Despite the choices of letters (and case), this isn't in Laplace space, nor is it about electric current—it's just one real value that varies with some other real value squared.

For me learning mathematics has made dealing with equations that a lot of people write a lot harder. Like what do all these letters means. Like I had a chem prof that provided the formula for the conversion of f° to c° but it was brutally impossible to disipher what exactly to do. I’ve also had terrible economics problems for similar reasons.

Definitions also seem to elude most texts. I get it, but it’s somewhat vile.

But this is all forgivable. I am not the target audience for Econ 101 even if it does impact my grade. What is truly insidious is cursed math that you get from upper level courses like in physics II:
