He normally didn’t venture so far from the city, at least not on his own... But rumors had caused his Captain to want someone to investigate, and Eddie just so happened to draw the short straw that afternoon.
For the time being, he was perfectly content to rest by the river, leaning against a tree with his waterskin in hand. Honestly, it was almost eerily quiet out there; The only sound were the birds and the water. And, well, there was his horse as well, grazing just a few feet away.
The brunette gave a soft sigh, his eyes closing. “I should probably make camp soon,” he mused, knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to investigate and get back before nightfall.
