mercy was left on the steps of the briar heart pagan - worship cathedral by her birth mother in an adidas shoebox that also only had a little doll in it ( which mercy later named ugly ) and the nuns took her in
she got pneumonia and they were convinced she was going to die, but sister jones, one of the nuns, prayed to apollo to save her and apollo cured her
abuse tw: bounced around foster homes by run by mostly shitty abusive foster families, jane doe essentially, had almost no friends save adelaide wu at one point and seems kind of princessy now but got kicked out a lot for starting fights with the popular girls who bullied her for being poor and scrappy
always thought she deserved more than her piece of shit life built on being treated completely subhumanly, found her solace in stealing pretty shiny things from every home she was in ( jewelry, lip stick, fashion magazines etc ) and had dreams of becoming a famous actress ( mostly because she loved to pretend to be anyone but herself )
fled her foster home in her senior year after The Stolen Stash was discovered by her drunken foster dad who tried to kill her with a broken beer bottle, ran to The Altar Of The Gods, sacrificed ugly, her only possession and asked to be rich and golden forever ( god, she played herself w that last one )
the next day she won the lottery, 1.7 billion dollars, renamed herself mercy jones after sister jones, got famous, went to a list parties, built a social media empire and was working on kick starting an acting career
when everything went horribly wrong
first part of mercy’s curse is that she’s going to be rich and have money forever, but it’s cursed to make her extremely miserable
ex: her sports car slid into her pool, jewlery turns her skin green, gets food poisoning at fancy french restaurants
became wildly infamous, the face of a viral internet meme called cursey, dropped from every celebrity event and became a joke and social pariah
the final straw was that during her most recent instagram live her huge chandelier came down and almost crushed her to death
so she finally answered the call of the curse database who had begged her to register her curse for years and is currently at their facility because shes scared to be at home and told her followers she went to the caribbean
ok final bit and worst part, part two of mercy’s curse is that she asked to be golden and the god’s love to laugh so the god that cursed her ( idk who it is, someone help me ) turned her blood into ichor
blood tw it makes her EXTREMELY SICK AND WEAK, she gets golden nose bleeds and coughs it up in clots into tissues, her organs are failing and will probably die w in the next couple years if not months, yeehaw!

hello !! i’m noah, and this is my terrible angry boy ronan, aka andromeda ! i’ve posted his bio in the chat but if you want the basics then there’s a quick intro below the cut.

curse :
his grandparents used to live in a small fishing town, one with rough terrain and bad weather and frequent monsters--- and yet they were pretty successful in their trade despite it all.
most of this success was due to ronan’s family, and they soon got boastful about it, claiming themselves to be better at faring the seas than poseidon himself.
poseidon, of course, didn’t care for that, so he gave them two choices : either their town could be completely destroyed, with only ronan’s grandmother and grandfather left alive, or they could sacrifice their family to a monster and spare everyone else.
they chose the latter, but didn’t know that not only they would die, but their entire bloodline would be cursed to the same fate as well.
their family been given a monster of their own, of sorts, one that knows only them, and it’ll hunt them throughout each of their lives, attacking occasionally until it finally decides to go for the kill.
ronan has never seen this monster face-on, that’s a part of it, just the results of it.
he’s encountered it a few times in his life, most notably when it killed his mother, but again he’s never gotten a good look at it, and won’t until it comes to kill him for good.
backstory :
ronan was an only child to a single mother. his father left pretty quick after finding out about the family curse, seeing how he didn’t want to get caught up in it, and he was gone long before ronan knew him.
when he was really little his curse didn’t shake him, he didn’t much think of it as real, but that changed pretty fast the first time it tried to get to him. sometimes the monster will kind of toy with him, get a bite or snatch at him so he has to remember it’s there, and it’s been doing so since he was in elementary school.
his mother tried to give him as normal a childhood as she could manage, even as they were both constantly chased. they were really close, especially as they were some of the few left of their family--- ronan’s grandmother killed herself before their beast could get her, and his grandfather was killed by it some years after.
she died when he was about thirteen. he didn’t see it happen, exactly, he was at school, but he found her body afterwards.
he moved in with one of his mother’s friends afterwards, as it’d been planned for ages since they both knew eventually he’d lose his mother, but their relationship was distant at best.
when he was eighteen he moved out, got an apartment of his own, and it was here where the database eventually found him with the opportunity to come and stay with their facility.
while he agreed, he refuses to live within the actual facility, instead choosing a place in town nearby. he’s been monitored by the database his entire life, he doesn’t care to have them watching that closely.
personality :
honestly, he’s just a really angry guy. not hateful, mind you, just pissed off. he’s got a bad temper, and it’s pretty easy to aggravate. the boy gets in a lot of fights, what can i say.
he kind of blames the monster for this. it’s been hanging around so long, he thinks maybe it’s rubbed off on him.
ronan is very quiet, however, and talks as little as he can. he’s not very eloquent, and not very social, and he knows he’s only got so many words in his life that he can use, and he’s not eager to use them all up on useless things.
as much as he wants to be like “fuck the gods” all the time, he’s pretty quiet about it. he knows firsthand what can happen if you challenge them, and he doesn’t want to make his own fate worse. that said, he’d probably fistfight some of them if he could.
random stuff :
while ronan likes to act fearless, he is terrified of the water. his monster was originally from the sea, and it still favors the ocean, and while it can follow him anywhere it’s always most common around the water--- even in rain. it’s from poseidon, after all.
he’s got some strange scars, mostly from his monster and some from fights that went bad, and he won’t say shit about any of them.

2 years into their marriage brooks died in a car accident tht lou Might have caused.. for legal reasons i can neither confirm nor deny whether tht happened but the police didn’t charge her so do with tht what you will
but she kind of went on the run anyway bc post-curse her doctors were like “nah this bitch is straight up crazy” and she knew her dad wasnt gonna b happy with her for another deal going sour so .. she ran ! and she’s kinda been hotel hopping between towns for the last 3 years trying her best not to interact w anyone !
CURSE.
lou’s curse is all abt prophecy baby !
okay so basically she can see the future of things/objects via touching them which was a whole big symbolic thing in the app bc she “deceived” apollo w her hands .. idk man here’s the line from the bio tht says it best
he binds her wrists and says because it was your hands you used to lie , now your hands will see the truth as he renders her incapable of touching anything or anyone without foreseeing an imminent doom . you will see but never be seen , he says . you will hear but never be heard .
ofc in true cassandra style, if she tries to talk to anyone abt her curse ever it’s like the earth swallowed her whole.. nobody can hear her.. nobody can see her.. nothing..
she also has absolutely no idea how to control it at all so like sometimes they’re very vivid images of something going to happen sometimes theyre more like bad feelings abt things .. it’s like a fun game where she never knows whats gonna happen and the prophecies ruin her life !

he pulled cas out of school p young so he didn’t learn ??? anything ?? unless he figured it out himself so he’s always been forced to do things Himself or not at all u know. literally this kid didn’t learn how to read until he was like 10 so don’t ask him what two squared is he doesn’t fucking Know
he joined the marines at 18 and ended up falling in love w a fellow soldier named sam ( aw ) so gay rights babey
a few years into his military career he met this dude who turned out to be the god kratos, aka the divine personification of strength & power, and double whammy surprise kratos is his GRANDPA #wild
one day kratos tried to order his unit to leave sam behind in a firefight and cas was like hm actually No and convinced everyone to go against kratos to save sam
for his trouble he got a medal and a curse all in one rip :/
so as for his curse he basically ended up getting all these prophecies and quests to do on behalf of the gods bc kratos was like aight u can be a soldier for the gods 4ever
one prophecy ended up being that he had to kill sam which is :( sad especially since sam was like “it’s okay” and helped him do it so ... in conclusion i hate it here
he also got a prophecy at some point that he’s fated to die at the hands of someone he’s wronged on behalf of the gods so ... rip cas ig
ever since then he’s just been wandering around doin his quest thing until he moved to the database town !

THE STORY—
remember euripedes’ play of medea? well it goes something like that lmao; basically january was born to a line of sorcerers from a demigod who was cursed by the gods to suffer for her power, and january was basically isolated to her family because they diluted their powers enough so they could practice some magic and keep their bloodline afloat
enter: love! love sucks, and january can testify to that! a hero flattered her (w the help of a goddess) and promised her a lot of things so that he could have a sorceress on his arsenal; her power, while it was okay wasn’t good enuf which was a total drag so the only logical thing to do was to activate her curse and at least grow more powerful to help her #onetruluv !!
spoiler alert it doesn’t go well !!
he leaves her after his series of quests, and goes off to get married to some beautiful demigod who the gods have promised to him or he rescued, she really doesn’t care about all that tbf
what she does care about? vengeance! and bc the gods didn’t really care about karmic retribution except for nemesis and she didn’t answer her, she went “fuck it!” and concocted a plan of her own. taking the heart of a freshly dead thing and a sacrificial dagger, she killed his bride at their wedding
she also killed the one after that, but that’s neither here nor there. what’s there is that the guy died in the end. from grief? from anger? who knows, who cares! not january!
this is supposed to be the part of the play where medea gets to fly an awesome golden dragon chariot to her grandfather helios’ place, but like lmao no helios, no dragons only bullshit gods and what happens for her retribution? she gets her family killed!
the place where she lived is now scorched earth and has the faint smell of ozone! the ashes are kept in an urn, where she takes with her and honestly she’s just miserable in the end. the gods also called on her to stay in this city
she hates the city. and the gods. but she doesn’t know what tf to do at this point and just sits in her apartment and goes 2 the database !!
THE CURSE—
her curse basically works to isolate her as long as she has her power. this works by creating a roadblock of sorts? like fuzzy memories if she’s around! like she’s there, but... like what did u do what did u see. u had a time w her but u can remember the details of it all u know !!
she needs to have a ritual done in order to create deep lasting bonds which sucks because a.) it’s hard and b.) it hurts !! the double whammy of this is that her power dilutes every time she makes this choice, and if the opposite choice is made to isolate herself she gets her power back !! yay !! but also she will sever contact from the person and no more deep bonds in the end !! boo !!
currently, she’s powerful as all hell, but lonely so u know... yikes? also fuck the gods tbh
THE EXTRA—
she’s got a black cat familiar named the grand duchess aveline du bois who absolutely hates when people come over. that said she’s also a little gremlin who tries to eat potion reagents and january has to spray her with the bottle

he’s ten years old when he finds out who his birth father is , as well as what happened to his birth mother . he’s a pissed of little ten year old who refuses to take the title of demigod .
the way he’s been a hero since birth . . . saving people , saving animals , the quiet little hero of the quiet little town he lived in . people either praised him or they hated him and thought he was too dangerous to have around , and it’s partially the reason he doesn’t trust anyone . their opinions can change pretty quickly when the blame for everything starts to be put on you .
he failed to save his mom , dad , and little sister , and will never forgive himself , thanatos , or any of the other gods for their deaths . they were killed by a monster of their own creation , and while he’s always detested the gods , this made him hate them so much more .
⸺ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒 .
the gods really hate this man because he openly hates them . they’ve never liked him , and he’s never liked them . most of them , anyway .
to be honest , i explain it best in my app , but i’ll do my best to Shorten that section into little bullet points .
basically , he received the curse because of direct defiance / interference with Godly Matters , but it was honestly a long time coming because of his active rebellion and hatred towards them . in mythology units in school , the usually quiet kid would always openly shit - talk a lot of the gods . we love to see it , but the gods , unfortunately , do not . the last straw was him saving a young woman from a death before her time ( he doesn’t know what she did to anger the god trying to kill her , but he doesn’t really care , because whatever it was , it was definitely petty and dumb ) .
he’s either given a prophetic dream of slaying a monster or several of them , and these usually happen when he has to take care of multiple monsters in a shorter period of time . otherwise , he’s tasked directly by a god to slay whatever they need / want him to .
despite being more durable as a demigod , fighting monsters so much takes a significant physical toll on him ( and he has the many scars to prove his mortality ) , and while his mind is even stronger than his body , he’s not completely steady . the loss of his family as well as all of the blood on his hands takes a pretty Decent mental toll on him .
⸺ 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 .
he doesn’t care what happens to him as long as other people are safe . he cares a lot about people , despite his cynicism and very distrusting nature .
even if he dislikes you , if you’re not a god , he will always be well - mannered and very calm and collected ( unless someone gives him a very good reason not to be , and even then , he can and will light your ass on fire very collected and calmly ) . he won’t let bad people stop him from being as good a person as he can be .
tbh he’s just real tired , man . tired and kinda sad . but he’s still determined af and refuses to let the gods win by watching him fail .
when he’s passionate about something , it’s easy to tell . he actually speaks up , even if it’s soft and still kinda quiet . even talking about the gods , his voice is never raised unless he’s talking directly to them and they piss him off / upset him enough .
he’s not fearless , but he’s very brave and always faces his fears . unless it’s failure to save someone when he has the ability to save them . if that happens , he WILL die . he already blames himself ( partially ) and feels like he could’ve stopped his family’s deaths , and that will always weigh heavy on him .
he is very good at taking care of other people , but he’s not the best at taking care of himself , and is even worse as letting people help him at all .
he really enjoys flowers and plants as well as being around animals . he’s VERY good with animals , and you know how ppl say they have strong connections with animals when they really don’t ? he’s one of the ppl that doesn’t say it but it’s actually true for him .
he’s a bartender but he rarely drinks , himself , yeehaw !!
he really loves to write , and his handwriting has no business being as pretty and legible and Nice ‘n’ Neat as it is . oh and he's ambidextrous but uses his left hand for most things , including writing !!

+ ) ella’s curse is a high-danger love kind. her curse entails that everyone she loves BUT leaves behind ( which she did often, given she had to constantly run away to a new location to avoid being found by the capos ) would develop a kind of madness. this would become so excruciating that they’d resort to taking their own lives.
+ ) this, as you may realize, is kind of a snarky way the gods opted for to remind her that once a traitor, always a traitor. she’d leave behind a trail of corpses from that moment onwards for having even so much as dared fleeing ( helen of troy... trojan war... !! ) it also meant to isolate her, taking out those close to her and leaving her only with her enemies.
+ ) for the curse to work, the relationship between her and person b has to be mutual / reciprocated. if only one of them has positive feelings for the other, then they’re spared. if they have a negative relationship, they’re safe too.
+ ) the degree of closeness also influences it -- the closer she is to someone ( and said feelings are reciprocated ) the more violent, slow and agonizing the other person’s death will be. and so forth.

+ ) personality-wise, she’s a very eloquent yet soft-spoken person ( hey, she wants to treat others well as a way to compensate for all the destruction she causes ). at the same time, she sometimes relies on like, familiar cues and tricks to come off as pleasant but because she is so afraid of hurting others, she’ll stop herself every now and then. because of this, she skips shallow politeness and can be super blunt. not forming those solid bonds is the best way to spare others -- hey, if they hate her BUT get to stay alive, she’ll take that. deep down, she really treasures people and loves company and will have her feelings on people very clear, but will actively avoid them from truly manifesting for the aforementioned reason.
