January 10th is Peculiar People Day. As a weirdo from a weird family, celebrating this holiday is so easy for me. Embrace your strangeness today!
Guys, Cursive has great stories to tell! This is a guy who turned his brother's head into a pumpkin, and that's not even the weirdest thing that has happened to him! (Just kidding, it is, but still.) So please, ask stuff! You could ask about other skeletons, about his background, about the world he's in, and pretty much whatever. Here's his character sheet if you need ideas of what to ask him about.
Also, if someone can guess the date and holiday of Cursive's birthday, I will do either a drawing request or find some way to put them (or their oc) in the campaign as an NPC, depending on what you want.
I swear I've been working on the first session, and I've already rolled the first nat 20 (with amusing results). Basically the only reason I haven't started drawing the comic is because Frisk's character wears scale mail. Do you know how hard it is to draw/design armor?
Sellout
Have a Bad Day Day
Tamal (the antler headed guy) is my personal DnD character. I put him there instead of Frisk's character because I haven't finalized their design (or their backstory) yet, and Tamal has definitely had some bad days. He's a sweet little cinnamon roll though.
Height Comparison
Ok, it is just so funny to me how short halflings are. I usually draw Sans and Alphys the same(ish) height, which is about Papyrus's shoulder height. Pretty short, but not too bad.
But then you compare Alphys's character Trix the dwarf to Sans's character, the halfling size Cursive, and there's about six inches of difference between the two.
And this is just the halfling next to the dwarf! Trix is half of Vida's height herself, so put the 3 and a half foot halfling with the nearly 7 foot dragonborn and...
Just imagine Vida putting Cursive down and him running with his little legs to catch up. He's so small.
Realistically I think Sans would be closer to dwarf height, but personality-wise he shares a lot of traits with halflings. But my goodness, I am going to have so much fun drawing this party with their size differences.
Is your birthday January 23, Cursive? It’d work pretty well as your signature holiday!
Also, did you know May 9th is national letter magnet day? That’s my second pic.
This obscure holiday doesn’t attract much attention either, and I’m sure it puts some people to ZZZs, but I think you’d think it’s in Alpha tier.
If I got both wrong… well. C you later alligator.
Yep! January 23rd is National Handwriting Day, which is Cursive's birthday. Also, it's written as 1/23, which is exactly the sort of date a lazybones like Sans would choose for his character's birthday, so I honestly was just hitting two birds with one stone.
I did not know about Letter Magnet Day, though my mom might. I'll have to keep that in mind. Also, I think Cursive might have a new catchphrase now.
Because you got it right, I'll do a drawing request or put you/an oc in the campaign, depending on what you want. Let me know what you want!
Sans's Character: Cursive
Heh, every time I draw the Sans of this universe his hood gets just a little bit fluffier. Soon it will take over and he'll just be a little floof-ball. Man, with no one else around, you can't tell how short Cursive is.
The first appearance of my "living skeleton modifier" homebrew! I literally looked up what percentage of a human's weight was the skeleton so I could put down a good weight for Cursive (though I doubled it to make the bones denser and less brittle because I didn't want living skeletons to be weak to bludgeoning damage like D&D skeletons are, it's a whole thing, you probably don't want to hear it). Plus I gave him "undead similarities" which is beneficial, but I really should figure out some sort of weakness skeletons have because it's no fun to have someone be too awesome just because you wanted an aesthetic change. Maybe I can give a weakness to radiant damage or turn undead?
Sans's laziness and love of practical jokes made it a lot easier for me to choose what spells are in his spellbook. He doesn't have a lot of offensive spells though... but he's definitely prepared ways to avoid a fight.
Party Height Chart
Here are the heights of the characters. This will be useful to me because I have got to draw these characters consistently. Yay, they all have unique silhouettes (kinda)!
I need to practice drawing these guys (and all the different D&D races).
Here are the character sheets if you want more info on these guys. Vida, Trix, Rune, Cursive, and Kit.
