Okay. Had another idea. What if Flumpty is 100% aware that his world is a videogame and Champ was merely the mouse cursor from their point of view? Like, the whole eyes appearing on the “game over” screen doesn’t really happen. It’s just for game immersion or something like that? Since the person who Flumpty is playing with is yourself, the player. I just think it would be a neat idea. I also think Flumpty DOES have some awareness to his videogame-based existence. A worthwhile example, is Digital Flumpty from ONAF 3. A character with strong connections to the videogame by displaying videogame-like qualities. As one of his morphed faces is a literal “GAME OVER” screen. Which makes me think that Flumpty is much more aware than we think.
