Olympia #3
Kirby Spiegelman has had a very troubled life leading up to the cancellation of his comic in Olympia #3. He has lost everything he loved. And he has come to the point where he is ready to end his life. First, his wife has left with his son and remarried. Not only have they canceled his comic creation, they are withholding payments due to an accounting issue. But to top it all off, his friend and mentor, Wally has passed away. What he doesn't know, is that his biggest fan and the character in his comic are on the way to see him. Will they arrive in time?
Olympia #3 In this issue we get to see everything that has led up to the ending of the previous issue. There is some language with some of the heavier words actually comic bleeped. I'm really enjoying the idea of a comic coming to life and hopefully restoring it's own creator. The artwork is really gruff but fitting. As a printing professional most of my career, I appreciate the moire pattern incorporated into the depictions of comics and other printed material in the book. If you don't know what I'm talking about, in this issue in particular they use it in the image of Wally at the graveside. I'm really enjoying everything about this series. Olympia #2
The hero Olympian has jumped, or fallen, out of comics and into the real world in Olympia #2. Now its up to his biggest fan, Elon, to figure out how to get him back home. Olympian's Nemesis has followed him to Earth and unleashed creatures from Olympia on the citizens. They were able to stop this wave of creatures but they have to figure out what is next. To do that, Elon searches out the latest issue of the comic that tells Olympian's tales. But the comic was canceled after issue 12 and the only thing they can do is seek out the creator. Will Kirby Spiegelman have the answers they seek?
Olympia #2 This is shaping up to be a really fun series. An adventure with a fictional hero spilling over into the real world. The art and colors really set the mood for the issue. It feels almost retro. There is some language if that sort of a thing is an issue for you. But the characters are really fun and engaging. Its a good read for anyone who has been a kid that wanted to meet their hero. Credits Writer: Curt & Tony Pires Artist: Alex Diotto Colors: Dee Cunniffe Letters: Micah Myers Read the full article
Elon meets his comic book hero in Olympia #1
Olympia #1 is the story of a kid named Elon, who spends his time alone reading his favorite comics. That is until the hero, Olympian falls out of the sky. Elon has to help Olympian get back on his feet. Because if he doesn't, there is another person from the comic universe that is looking to finish their fight. There's a lot in store for our comic loving friend and his real life hero. This was a pretty fun start to this series. The story behind the story is that Curt and his father Tony had this story idea. Tony was fighting cancer at the time. So we get to be apart of the very personal story as it comes to life. There is some adult language and violence. Plus a little vicodin usage by Olympian as Elon tries to heal him. The really bad words are "bleeped" but there are a couple of "S-Words" in there that are not. But the story is really compelling and the are is awesome. I like the change between the comic art and the real world. There's only 5 issue in the series so go ahead and grab it in the beginning.

But before he can even get up to go home, Olympian from the comics falls from the sky. As Olympia recovers in the woods, Elon get some medicines from home to help out. One of the pills is Vicodin that was his fathers when he was sick. The pills give Olympian new life and gets him up and moving. Later, Olympian tries to return to Olympus but is too weak. Which is very unfortunate as they are immediately attacked by monsters. They are defeated quickly but Olympian collapses in a heap. Then elsewhere, we find out Vilayne is also on Earth searching for Olympian. Some poor guy in a watch tower is unfortunate enough to meet him as he tries to get his bearings. The ranger guy doesn't make it. Read the full article
